"This is the second time we've stayed at the Retreat and we've thoroughly enjoyed both stays. The house is located in a very quiet area with beautiful views of the St Mark's river from the screened porch. The house was spotless when we arrived and had everything we needed to prepare meals and relax when not out on a daily adventure. The area offers endless opportunities for outdoor activities, our favorite being the St. Mark's Wildlife Reserve. Day trips to Apalachicola, Alligator Point, St George Island and Panacea are also worth it for the beautiful coastline drive. While the location is remote, a Publix is within about 20 minutes drive to stock up on necessities.Carolyn has been a great host and answered any questions we had very promptly. We're already missing the river (an otter swam by to say hello this morning) and can't wait to get back. We highly recommend checking this place out if you are exploring the area."
