I loved the peaceful mornings here. Apartment has everything you need to cook, clean, and rest well. Location is an easy twenty minutes to Durango and a nice head start on all the amazing things to see and do south of town towards New Mexico. Will definitely be back!
This home is beautifully appointed and very comfy & cozy. Everything you need is there. It is so peaceful and relaxing! The hosts are kind an accommodating. I highly recommend Owls Nest!
our stay was great. We fed horses apples and carrots, went skiing, visited the fish hatchery, rode the train, and enjoyed some quiet time reading outside. The house was clean, comfortable, and close to everything. We had a private entrance, comfy bed, and a stocked kitchen to make breakfast. Easily one of the best getaways we've had.
As a group of adults (all family) between the ages of 56 - 84, we looked ALL over the Durango area for a house that would give us both the togetherness and privacy that all of us were looking for. And, adding Owl's Next to the Casa Luna reservation made for a perfect combination.
Owl's Nest is a super cute efficiency apartment that, along with the king and twin bed, gave two of us the sleeping arrangements we needed, a private space to get ready in the mornings, and a quiet space to fall asleep at night.
The entire space was super clean, updated, and had absolutely everything we needed. With a total of seven adults staying between Casa Luna and Owl's Nest, we had an extra space to do laundry, make coffee, and shower.
We had the opportunity to meet both Ben and Holly. Ben was super helpful when we needed to borrow a few tools to replace the license plate holder on our van. And, Holly was super friendly and seemed to really enjoy having short-term renters on her ranch!
I wouldn't be surprised if my parents. who fell in love with the ranch, make it back to Colorado, and rent Casa Luna and/or Owl's Nest, again. They LOVED having their coffee on the back patio every morning, listening to the donkey and cattle, watching the phoebe chase flies, and seeing the ranch come to life.

We enjoyed our stay in the Owl's Nest. It was clean and cozy. Nicely outfitted kitchen. Washer and dryer. Great place for 2 or 3 people. Would not recommend adding a 4th as there is no additional bedding provided. It is an apartment over a garage, so it does get a little hot in the summer afternoons.
The property was exactly as described and we were very happy with our stay. We would most definitely stay there again in the future. We thought a high chair would be available but it wasn’t. Holly offered to go to Walmart and get us one and we said no, it was okay. We came back from an evening out and a high chair was waiting on the porch for us! We were so grateful and so impressed with the nice gesture. Our 9 mo old was happy to have somewhere safe to eat her snacks!!! Highly recommend staying here! Can’t wait to come back!
Holly & Ben are amazing hosts and this house is a true gem. It's a pleasant 15 minute drive from the hustle & bustle of historic Durango and the Durango & Silverton Railroad depot. The unit is very clean, quiet, thoughtfully appointed, and significantly more comfortable than a hotel room. It's very obvious that Holly & Ben had invested a lot of thought and care into every detail.
We had a fantastic time in Durango and can't wait to return. When we do, it'll be Owl's Nest for sure!
The rental process was simple. The directions and other instructions were clear and easy to understand. The property was quiet, beautiful, and very relaxing. We had a wonderful 9-day stay!
This is a well-furnished garage apartment space that was perfect for a couple with a baby. It has a king bed with a full kitchen, washer/dryer, bathroom, and another single bed near the kitchen space. It is located on a farm which had great views of the mountains around Durango. Would definitely stay here again!
This rental is one of the nicest and well-appointed ones my wife and I have ever stayed. Immaculately clean, spacious for a studio, super comfy bed and pillows, washer/dryer, very kind hosts, quiet bucolic setting, and great location close to Durango.
Highly recommend!!!
We absolutely loved this place - it’s beautiful and in such a nice peaceful location. Holly was so friendly and accommodating. We would definitely stay again!
We enjoyed staying at this spacious studio apartment while visiting Durango. It was comfortable and clean. Loved hearing the cows moo. The property managers were very easy to work with. I would stay here again.
We enjoyed the quiet and relaxing studio on a small farm. There was plenty of space to move around, the bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was huge! We did not cook a meal, but the kitchen had everything we needed to prep lunch/snacks or reheat leftovers. The nooks were perfect to read in and the internet was solid. It is about 15 minutes outside of town (so grab anything you need before heading back). It has amazing views of the mountains - we went for small walks and kept the shades open to look out. (Note: in the summertime, right at dusk, there are mosquitoes for an hour or so. We closed windows at dusk and got a small thing of deet for when outside). The entrance opens to a private entryway where you can leave your shoes or bag and then the studio is up a short set of stairs. There is a small window AC unit and we would use it a couple hours in the late afternoon/evening, and then open the windows back up. The AC kicks on and off a lot so if you are noise sensitive this could bother you.

Cozy with an interesting layout.
We enjoyed our stay very much! The property offered plenty of space for 2 adults and a child. The spaces felt quite spacious, there was even a huge closet. The location was quiet and peaceful. This would be a great place for a couple's get away.

Perfect place near Durango
We loved everything about our stay here. Holly is the perfect host and has made this place homey and with complete amenities for everything you need. It is wonderfully decorated and she’s gone above and beyond with delightful touches here and there. The surrounding area is beautiful and peaceful. You’ll want to move in, I did! We highly recommend it and will definitely be staying there again next time we’re near Durango.
