This hotel has some much potential. The lack of attention to cleanliness and guest comfort detracts substantially from how beautiful the manor is.
Our room was very dirty—brown blood spots on the sheets, mold spots on the walls, pubic hair in the bathroom, urine under the toilet seat, cobwebs and spiders in every corner, brown residue in the kettle, and black grime on the ledges of the doors and windows. Our bedroom windows faced an outbuilding used by employees, who could look straight into our room. However, with the windows closed there was no air movement or ventilation, probably the reason for the mold on the walls. Even the bathroom blinds would close all the way because of knots in the cords.
The breakfast spread was beautiful, but again there was mold on the walls of the dining room and rotting fruit in the bottom of the fruit baskets. It seems that a lot of attention has been given to upkeep of appearances, but less to actual guest experience and comfort.
There’s so much potential here if someone could overhaul the cleaning protocols and guest experience.
