Top Donner Memorial State Park Hotel Reviews

Donner Lake Inn

8/10 Good

"Great breakfast to “grab and go” Just basic amenities at reasonable prices."

Lakefront Cabin with private pier on Donner Lake

10/10 Excellent

"We had such a wonderful stay! The cabin was incredibly comfortable, cozy, and inviting. We're a family of three, so we had plenty of room, but it could easily accommodate a larger family as well. The location was perfect! We were only about 10 minutes from downtown, yet it felt so peaceful and secluded, surrounded by beautiful trees. Check-in was a breeze, and Karen was always quick to respond.Having our own private access to the lake was absolutely magical and definitely one of the highlights of our stay! One thing to keep in mind: there are quite a few stairs to get to the cabin and down to the lake. But hey, your glutes will thank you! We really enjoyed our stay and would happily come back!"

The Inn at Truckee

8/10 Good

"Overall, I'm satisfied with my choice. I needed an after hours check in. They accommodated with my key in a lockbox. The first night was rough. The springs in the bed were worn out in the center. Felt like sleeping on the inside hinge of a book. Thankfully they were able to move me to a newer bed the next morning. Pros: Fridge and microwave, close to stores and restaurants, friendly staff, ample parking. Cons: The breakfast was sad, lamps were in various stages of disrepair, the tables outside welcome loud late night socializing, lot's of construction right in front of the hotel."

Truckee Donner Lodge

10/10 Excellent

"I had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The staff were friendly and provided excellent service. The room was spacious and comfortable, and the location was very convenient. My favorite feature was the coffee machine in the lobby, which offered hot drinks 24 hours a day. It was such a thoughtful touch to be able to enjoy a cup of coffee or another hot beverage anytime, day or night. Overall, a great hotel with excellent service and a welcoming atmosphere. I would definitely consider staying here again!"

Truckee Cabin Steps to Donner Lake w/ Kayaks, Fireplace & Forest Views

10/10 Excellent

"We really enjoyed the unbelievable views of Lake Donner from this home. The home itself was very comfortable and relaxing. The beds were very comfortable and provided us with great sleep. The Host was very attentive to our needs, texting multiple times to ensure that our stay was going well. The number one asset of this home is the most beautiful views from just about any part of this home and property. If there was anything that could have been better, I would list the following for future customers. First, the security lights on the upper stairways to the driveway were not working. making it difficult to see the stairs. Secondly, updated carpeting would be suggested. And finally, it was a little strange when showering or bathing as there were no window coverings on the bathroom windows. Overall, we really loved the home and the property and enjoyed our stay. Thanks!"

"All great except wifi password did not work."

Dog-friendly waterfront cabin with lake views & access - close to slopes

10/10 Excellent

"Working with the host was great. They were very accommodating in switching the reservation over to my wife's contact information. VRBO won't make any changes once reservation established. The residence was nice and quaint. Loved the view of Donner Lake from the deck and pier access across the street. Definitely recommend bringing your own pillows. Shower is very small. Very relaxing."
