We arrived here after an 8 day tour for a six night stay. We found the room to be spotless, comfortable and spacious. The staff were amazing, particularly the general manager who looked after our every need and request. The hotel has its own private beach, plus a swimming pool with gorgeous views out to the Indian Ocean. A trip to the nearest tourist friendly town Hikkaduwa is only a short 15-20 tuk tuk ride. Unfortunately there is not much to cater for tourists in the town of Ambalangoda...

Decent boutique hotel. Quiet, clean, and a private beach at your feet, literally. Very good in-house restaurant, and other eating spots closeby if required. Rooms are air-conditioned, with TV and good rainfall showers. Staff polite and attentive, my room AC was deemed faulty after a few hours from check-in and was fixed by a technician within 30min after reporting. Fantastic hotel on beautiful beach. Rooms were spacious, well decorated and clean. The staff are friendly and accommodating. The only fault was the lift broke down. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Great location, right on the beach. Staff are friendly and helpful. Food was excellent with a good variety. The sea was too rough for swimming but they have a pool which is large and well maintained.

Beautiful upmarket stay in a gorgeous location. I will note it’s not walking distance to fort but easily reached by a 10 min Tuk Tuk. We visited in off season and had the entire place to ourself

The owner/host and housekeeping staff were very friendly and nice to talk to. They can arrange tuk tuk for the guests and home style food was so delicous. Due to its location, guests will need to have insects repellent spray applied at all time. Overall very nice stay at villa birdlake.

From the check-in to the last day of our stay, the Management and staff were very friendly, caring and hospitable. Lovely location overlooking the ocean. Great food with verity of flavours and options. Thoroughly enjoyed the local seafood choices. Memorable Sri Lankan experience.

Really nice hotel. Rooms were large and comfortable with a great view. If coming via train, it's a short tuk tuk ride from hikkaduwa station. Plenty of restaurants nearby
