Staff were great. Lovely lunch and dinner options and desserts were amazing. Cabin was ok, but parking a bit challenging in some cabins. Accessibility also a bit of a challenge, ramps don't always lead to the carpark or other useful areas. Not a lot of privacy in the cabin, soundproof though. Included breakfast was poor. The range of options provided was as expected, but toasters didn't work properly, bacon was chewy and scrambled eggs discoloured and rubbery. Lots of great walks around the area and a beautiful spot.

Beautiful surrounding with great & friendly staff at reception. Only complaints is that no other mirror in the room except the bathroom but the mirror is way too high for most and average people able to see. Need a 2nd mirror desperately

Remote and rugged
Lovely remote retreat. Rooms are spacious and warm. Bathrooms are clean and recently renovated. They are very comfortable. The rooms are a long way from the restaurant area a consideration for older people or less mobile but easy walking track about 5-10 minutes walk. TV are are tiny, my husband had to wear his glasses to see. The only fail is that it should be stated there is no phone signal or wifi in the room, only at the restaurant. If people know they can make their own choice. Friendly staff who are try hard but in a remote area are a bit understaffed.

Very overpriced
Very over priced for what it is. Its best feature is the location on the banks of Lake St Clair. Cabins were basic, for the price they charge. Bed and pillows weren’t great. Our fridge was very noisy throughout the night. Shower is smallish. No wifi or mobile reception in room. There was wifi in the reception area only. We had dinner in the restaurant. Food was disappointing. We wouldn’t stay here again.

The food in the restaurant for dinner was delicious but breakfast was disappointing. Adding wifi to rooms would be of great benefit. I wasn’t stating there to escape the world but as part of a motorbike tour. Made it hard to check next day weather

Lake St Clair was an unexpected highlight for us. The Lodge was very comfortable and unlike Cradle Moutain - which although wonderful is quite busy, at least in peak season- this place is very peaceful, and walks and lake are accessible. Will definitely come back in winter some time.

Being in the National Park right at the lake (with a view, but not all cabins have that). Did not like the breakfast (very basic) and that there was no basic kitchen in the cabin. The price is pretty high (monopoly).

This place is terrible value. Stingy, stingy, stingy breakfast for such a high priced place, too few staff very poorly trained, no excuse for no wifi given the price and lack of phone signal. The amazing location is 5 minutes from Derwent Bridge where much better value for money and service can be found. This was the most expensive place we stayed in 4 months in Australia and is not comparable more economic options in other iconic locations. Cradle Mountain Hotel for example was a lot cheaper and 20 times better in terms of food and service. The accommodation was better there too but I accept that in such a sensitive and exclusive location the operator's hands are somewhat tied in terms of the infrastructure.

Room was clean and facilities within the room were good. Rooms were more or less cabins in a location remote from the main building down a bush track. If you have any mobility issues this is not the place for you. At $400 a night we thought that it was vastly overpriced.

The property is within the national park providing easy access to the lake & its surrounding. It was a two storey rustic cottage. However, the bedrooms were at the loft above and were too small for the big luggages to be opened. Heating was via a central unit and could only reach one of the bedroom.

Unfortunately we did not enjoy our visit to the Lake St Clair Lodge. We had hoped to eat at the Lodge but the menu was very limited, only 4 mains which were all meat based. Breakfast was included but the only non meat option was not available. Of course this might not be a problem for some but at over $500 per night and given many people now choose a plant based option for many reasons, it was strange not to have anything available. There seemed to be a staff shortage which added to the communication. The room, cabin style was adequate but very minimal in decor. The very best part of the stay & a life saver, was the local pub where beautiful meals were served, lovely folk, helpful and welcoming. The local attraction’The Wall’ was fabulous.

This was the most expensive accomodation we booked in our ten days in Tasmania, and by far the poorest. I guess it’s primarily for bushwalking folk, but the room we had was spartan and in only average condition. There was obviously a leak from the shower into the cabin where the floor was getting damaged, the advertised “Lake View” was dense tea tree scrub through which a few bluish spots could be seen. The room heater was pretty good, and the bed comfortable, but it was a 3 star room I think. It would have been reasonable if it was half the price we paid. Two meals in the restaurant were excellent.

Outstanding location in the middle of outstanding, unique nature. The cabins are comfortable but outdated, no internet connection or mobile signal and poor TV reception in the accommodation areas. Whilst the eco branding is great, in this day and age there is no excuse for lack of signal availability across the whole accomodation area, for the price that is charged per night.

Great place, beautiful surrounds and good food
Booked 2 Cabins Each was well appointed, very clean and cozy. The Breakfast was great as was the location, views and Restaurant in general. Our party was made up of 2 adults, 2 children and 2 pensioners and the site ticked the boxes for all of us. We only stayed 1 night but I regret that as we all agreed we wanted to stay a day or two longer. Will certainly come back and stay longer next time.

The Strahan Village has a great setting, and fantastic views from the bar, restaurant. But the rooms are adequate at best. They are echos of a 1980s motel style, pretty basic and could do with a lot of modernising. The resort, owned by the NRMA, also has a near monopoly on local lunch and dining options, all of which are therefore over priced and pretty average quality.

What a beautiful, peaceful location! Pristine air and surrounds make for a relaxing and refreshing stay. The cabin was well-appointed, very clean and the bed and pillows were confortable and supportive for my arthritic back problems. Recep However, we were disappointed by the restaurant/cafe options. The website describes a menu of organic choices from a wide range of Tasmanian produce. This is incorrect. Whilst, as a business owner, I am only too aware of the staffing issues being experienced world-wide at present, the menu was so limited there was only one option for my vegetarian daughter and as I have wheat allergy, my options were similarly limited. Lake St Clair is a little way from major centres, but freezers are a pretty great way to prep and store prepackaged or fresh food. Having worked extensively in hospitality, I thought the Management lacked imagination and experience, which translated to the staff. The coffee machine wasn't switched on until 11am and people staying or returning from hikes were desperate for a proper coffee, which, when it finally arrived, was pretty awful. Talking to many experienced hikers who have been there many times, the restaurant and cafe has a long-standing pretty bad reputation and they avoid it. With the sheer numbers of people passing through this facility, it could be a poular goldmine, but is really missing the mark. We actually got in the car and drove six kms to the nearest cafe to get a good coffee!
