"Lovely hosts. The cottage was clean, comfortable and very well equipped, don’t worry if you’ve forgotten anything! Has been decorated since photographs were taken so now more country cottage than Scandinavian. Terrace and outside of property very dusty but it is a farm yard and the weather was extremely hot. "Great location, disappointing stay (Room 129) The hotel is in a fantastic location right on the High Street and looks lovely from the outside. The bar area is nice, and the staff were friendly and welcoming on arrival. However, the experience quickly became underwhelming. The hotel feels tired throughout, stairs and carpets need refurbishing, and the lift is very small and dated. While it’s an older building, it lacks upkeep. We stayed in Room 129, which was bland and lacked character, with plain décor. The carpets needed cleaning, especially in corners. The bathroom was small and a bit dingy. The bed was extremely soft and uncomfortable, with an uneven feel. The TV was mounted crooked, and the curtains didn’t block out light properly. The net curtain looked grey and unclean. Breakfast was the biggest disappointment. Aside from self-service coffee and cereal, everything (even toast) had to be ordered, leading to delays and a frustrating experience, one of the worst hotel breakfasts I’ve had. Overall, while the staff were pleasant and the location is excellent, the hotel feels worn and didn’t meet expectations. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t return."
