"Great location for Saltburn & Whitby, lovely, quiet village. Sunday lunch was delicious, big portions, very good value for money. Would highly recommend. The room was clean & very comfortable with fantastic views. The bed was very comfy too. The staff were all very friendly and attentative. Will definitely visit again. "

"So I can't go into too much because a massive complaint has just gone into VRBO. Aggressive owner whom had my wife in tears. Its like being in a fish bowl being watched all the time. The place needs updating mould in the bathrooms cobwebs and dust . Signs everywhere owner invading our private space without warning noting ten of us drew the same conclusion we respected the property made a mistake as left dogs for a couple of hours not realised were not meant too and she basically tried to terminate our stay ! Note 10 fifty year old plus adults celebrating the end of one of our party beating cancer she totally ruined our stay. No loud music or roudiness absolutely disgusting being watched constantly she even questioned why we had closed the curtains clearly to get some privacy left the place cleaner than we found it."

"Lovely cottage, quiet close to main road but traffic noise not a problem once inside. Great been able to walk the dogs straight from the front door in owners little wood and field. Comfortable and warm. New this year and maybe a a bit of fine tuning still required but nothing major - no welcome pack/pint of milk but garage at Scaling Dam with well stocked shop, curtains/blinds at downstairs windows would be nice for privacy, there was no frying pan (had 2 woks!). Ate out - at the Jack & Jill Pub, Scaling Dam couple of mins away and excellent food at the Waterwheel, Liverton, 5 mins away, Wetherspoons for cheapness in Guisboro'. Good location for visiting local area. Some Tourist Info leaflets would also be useful for those who are not familiar with the area. Had a lovely weekend break and would return again."

"The Forge was very nice and clean but needed the finishing touches egbathroom no where to put tooth brush soap shower gel in shower shampoo etc nowhere to hang anything wardrobes we're far to high to hang anything .Wet boots and coats nowhere to put when coming in wet"

"This property and its host are simply outstanding. Located in the North Yorkshire countryside, the property is a converted barn, adjacent to the main farmhouse. While retaining the charm of the old structure, it has thoroughly modern kitchen and bathrooms. The is an en-suite bedroom on the ground floor as well as an en-suite bedroom upstairs. The upstairs bedroom and bath open to a small sitting area that overlooks the living space below. The main living area has a large television mounted on the wall, which is great for watching a film or two. There is also a wood burning stove.The hosts have ensured that the property is well-equipped with every accessory. The kitchen has beautiful cookware and a modern dishwasher. Plates and glassware are a joy. The property is beautifully decorated. The heating system keeps the space warm but ample blankets to make things cozy. Beds are extremely comfortable and the bedding first-rate.Views from the property are magnificent. Sheep and cattle dot the hillside; there are ample paths for walks. In the distance, in all directions, there are beautiful hills. We were greeted warmly by the hosts who explained the property and the area as well as answering our questions. They are attentive but also make sure to give guests their space."
