"Pleasant stay. Clean room. A not too loud alarm did disturb our sleep a little but it must have been nothing untoward? - fire regulations said to wait in bedroom until otherwise advised... fortunately no such advice was forthcoming!"

"We have recently just got back from a week's stay in this adorable cottage. At 1st we were a little wary of the stairs as they are steeper than your standard ones but this is most certainly no reason to be put off. Everything else most certainly made up for it. John and Nicola went above and beyond to make sure that our stay was everything we could dream of. Little extras on arrival. And an amazing hot tub. We have come home relaxed and already booking again for next year. A real little gem and amazing value. Thank you x"

"We’ve just returned from a two-day New Year’s break with three other families, and we had a fantastic time. The layout of the barn at Oakenshaw is perfect for groups and families, giving everyone plenty of space to relax and enjoy being together.The barn itself is ideal for a celebration or get-together, and we certainly made the most of the facilities — especially the bar, pool table, and the generous space for fun family games.On the second night, we really enjoyed using the fabulous kitchen area. It’s perfect for large groups, and the big kitchen island meant we could all chat, cook, and enjoy each other’s company at the same time.All four families had a truly wonderful stay, and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it."

"Fabulous mini break, just what we needed. The cottage has everything you could need for self catering. Lovely and clean. Cosy and warm. Friendly owner. The photos don’t do it justice, they look lovely but it’s so much nicer in person. We didn’t use any local amenities but they would be easy enough to navigate if needed. Would definitely recommend to others."
