"My sister and I stayed for two nights over the Easter weekend and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff were very welcoming and efficient. We did need to call reception to ask them to contact the room next to us, as the guests were quite loud, and the matter was dealt with promptly. The spa and swimming pool were excellent and enjoyed a massage! Breakfast was served buffet-style, with a great variety of choices."

"We had a lovely two night stay over Easter weekend. Parked easily, checked in a bit earlier. Lovely spotless room. Expected a bigger room for a superior room and would have loved a bath. However the shower was good with nice toiletries. Bed a bit too small and lumpy for me. Everything you could need in the room including hairdryer, iron, coffee machine etc. Friendly note left by housekeeping. Bar good for an afternoon drink. Breakfast WONDERFUL!! Loved the choices. Dinner also WONDERFUL. Pricey wine unfortunately. A short 10 minute walk into town with lots of bars, restaurants and shops. Would stay again. "

"Pre-checked in online, staff welcoming, explained where our room was, breakfast and took payment for parking. Our room was on the ground floor, just before the main corridor of rooms to the left of the reception. Our door was opposite staff access to I think the restaurant, the window out onto the garden area. The room was clean (although the net curtains were worn), spacious with a large bed, fridge, desk and fan. Bathroom was clean also. The room was fine, but people seemed to gather outside our door as the corridor area was wider, looking for room numbers on the signage etc. We listened to many conversations, late into the night, hearing them continue to tell others in the party to be quiet when entering the corridor to the other rooms. We were woken at 3am to a group chatting loudly outside our door and again at about 6am to what sounded like staff moving trollies outside the door. The weather was not great, but i think in the summer you would have the noise of the bar garden late into the night too. We used the gym at 7am, a nice well equipped facility, and the pool looked nice also. The restaurant was ok, but expensive! We visited for dinner, my husband said the brisket was bland. The cheese board was nice, but no cutlery apart from a sharp knife was provided, and no small plates given to share. The staff were nice, but no check was done and we had to call someone over for the bill. Breakfast buffet was good, but the hash browns under cooked and the coffee awful."

"The grounds are beautiful, the staff are great! We had breakfast which tasted good! The spa was relaxing but there is a bit of wear and tear in places. Overall it was a lovely night away - one thing to highlight: the bed and pillows are very soft, we usually sleep on a firm mattress and have fun pillows so we don’t sleep well and woke up a bit achey; but this is very subjective. Also the hairdryer in the room was really weak so being your own if visiting or use the ones in the spa’s changing room. "

"Stayed in Room 6 for 1 night. First the bad bits : Toilet had very slight weep from soil pipe at back that dribbled across the bathroom floor. TV didn’t work. Aerial disconnected and no way to join the 2 halves of lead. And no remote. Clearly had not been checked or tested. Very poor sound insulation between our room and next door. Could hear the tv, normal speaking voices quite clearly, and the snoring during the night!! The room is at the front of the building overlooking a junction. As it’s only single glazed it can be bit noisy with traffic. Didn’t bother me as used to traffic noise at home. Good bits: Staff very helpful and friendly. Bed was soft, comfortable and sheets clean. Room /bathroom clean. Pub itself very comfortable. Usual pub grub fayre bit limited but spicy chicken wings, fish & chips, sticky toffee pudding, hot and tasty. Though no cooked breakfast available, a croissant, small jar jam, and form of granola was in our room along with small bottle of milk in fridge. There was however, a cafe across the road that did an excellent cooked breakfast on a Sunday morning. We didn’t discover the bad bits about the room because we hardly spent any time in it until the night after the pub had closed. And because you let yourselves out and leave the room key in a pot by the door and the pub is closed, I couldn’t inform anyone of the condition of the room. Would I stay here again?? Possibly for 1 night"
