"The Hotel is located in the centre of Balmaha to the East of Loch Lomand. A family run the hotel, resturant/ pub and shops opposite the public carpark. If you have a room booked there is an allocated parking bay for each room. Purpose built buildings split in to ensuite rooms , well decorated with modern fittings, comfortable bed, working TV, good Wifi, Coffee provided, but no luggage rack. Fan provided in warm July weather. We had dinner in the pub resturant which was served promptly and was as decribed. We did not take breakfast as the quoted price seemed high. Overall a pleasent hotel, I would rate it as upper 3 star."

"We stayed at Knockderry Country House Hotel as a group and had booked seven rooms. The hotel has some clear positives: the location is very beautiful, right by the loch, and the setting is peaceful and atmospheriс, the staff are nice and friendly. The rooms were generally comfortable, and the building itself has charm. However, our overall experience was only okay, and I would probably not choose to stay here again. One of the main reasons we booked the hotel was the restaurant. We enjoy good food and had read positive reviews about the dinner, but unfortunately the food did not meet our expectations. It was not just average — most dishes were quite disappointing and not particularly tasty. Even something simple like fries was inconsistent: one guest received good fries, while others were served much less appealing ones. Overall, the dinner felt uneven and underwhelming. Breakfast was also quite average, and during our stay the coffee machine was not working, so there was no proper coffee available, which was disappointing. The rooms were comfortable, but I also felt the cleaning could have been better. I understand that this is a countryside hotel surrounded by nature, but checking for cobwebs near the bed before guests arrive seems like a reasonable expectation. The location is beautiful, but also quite remote, so it is worth keeping in mind that there are not many alternatives nearby if you are not happy with the restaurant."

Cameron House on Loch Lomond

"Stayed here with friends doing a sportscar road tour around Scotland last week. From the valet parking when we arrived the service was impeccable. We had a lovely room in the original main house which was really spacious and included a free minibar. The beds were so comfy. We ate in the Cameron Grill, which was a touch pricey but the food was delicious and again the service was superb. Finished off in Scott’s bar for a nightcap, nicely designed and a cool atmosphere. Had a quick dip in the swimming pool with steam & sauna rooms before a delicious breakfast and heading off on our tour. Will definitely return again."
