"Lovely quirky room in a lovely pub in a quiet location food was lovely clean room I did think the check in service could be a little more professional has we were given wrong keys to our room. The only downside was the WiFi in the room it didn’t work and you don’t get a phone signal, taxis are must if you plan to explore walking isn’t an option due to location. "

"This is a beautiful, unique lodging, as neat as a pin! We enjoyed evenings and breakfast chats with other guests in the comfortable lounge and dining room. Our hostess was quite helpful in revising our accommodations to suit a last minute need. The surroundings are breathtaking!"

"We used the Pickled Parson as a home base for a month while visiting family. The room we had for that duration of a stay was a little small, but it was comfortable, clean and made up daily. The staff were all amazing and really made us feel at home. A very relaxed atmosphere with great breakfast options. The bar was a great option to wind down at the end of the day with a night cap.

"Beautiful hotel rooms are well kept and in excellent condition.
The food in the bowes incline is the best around I could have stayed at a relatives house but wanted to eat and have a drink here - delicious!"

"My stay at Lanehead old school was fantastic. The owners Lisa and Chris were lovely and extremely helpful. My car broke down on the way there and they offered to pick me up. They then offered to pick me up from the garage I had my car towed to. Excellent hosts. It was like staying with old friends! I can't recommend the place highly enough!"

"We received a very warm welcome upon arrival from the reception staff. They were very helpful and friendly
Our room was very nice and clean. The shower over the bath could do with upgrading
The grounds are beautiful and although it was very busy with two weddings and and abundance of golfers there was plenty of staff to accommodate the demand. I would definitely recommend and stay again"
"We got here very late so we went to get some tea at Burger King so we then headed back in to eat it but as we left to go to Burger King we didn’t have the code so we had to buzz out and then we sat and watched some rubbish telly and we all fell asleep in the night Claire disappeared maybe she fell into a pit we will never know and then we all awoke but before we went to sleep the lamp was flickering and it was scary so we fixed it and then in the morning we woke up to an absolute banger of a tune but then Claire went back to sleep bad Claire who then proceeded to be a pest all morning but then we packed up and left but bean went on an adventure which was very funny it was lovely stay and some good Kip"
"I enjoyed a very pleasant stay at this hotel. The setting is really nice, offering a calm and welcoming atmosphere throughout. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful.
Breakfast was particularly impressive, with an excellent selection across both the continental and cooked options, all of which tasted great.
While certain aspects of the room showed minor signs of age, it was very clean and well maintained, ensuring a comfortable stay.
Overall, this is a charming hotel with attentive service and high‑quality dining."
