"Such a relaxed stay. All the staff were so helpful and friendly - reception, breakfast, housekeeping. Our flight was cancelled and the hotel gave us the same rooms for an extra night without any fuss."

"The hotel staff are efficient, welcoming and resourceful. Property could use an update, especially carpets in rooms. Hairdryer was sticky, scratched terribly and should be replaced!! Location is walkable to stores, restaurants, museums, galleries and the cathedral, which is fantastic."

"We had a great stay at Josef’s apartment in Cologne. The location is excellent—a safe neighborhood just a short walk from the tram and plenty of local cafes, restaurants, bakeries, and bars. Grocery store a few minutes walk away. We loved the high ceilings and the thoughtful touch of beers and water upon arrival. While the historic building has plenty of charm and a great TV setup (and nice large size TV), be aware that the floors are quite creaky and the heating takes some time to warm up, but it’s an old building so it’s understandable. We also struggled with the dryer not working well, but Josef was a very responsive and helpful host, especially with parking advice. Overall, a lovely and well-located base for the city and to explore the Christmas markets. Kitchen was fully equipped to cook and the provided extra pillows and blankets were also nice to have. The apartment was larger than the photos and being on the ground floor was great for the dog. Plenty of closet space. WiFi worked well but took a bit to figure out in the beginning. Once logged in, no issues. Fast enough for remote work. Recommend and would stay again if in Cologne. "

"Only light in the room was from desk lamp, floor lamp and bedside lamps. Even with all lamps on, the room was just dimly lit. No dresser for clothes, just a deep, dark cubby cabinet with 1 shelf. Easier to "live" out of our suitcases the 4 nts we were there than have to bend over, searching cabinet with a flashlight for clothes to wear. Breakfast was ok. No traditional German Brötchen. There were some small "voll korn" rolls which were nice, but otherwise just mini kaiser rolls and rolls COVERED in poppy seeds and sesame seeds. By end of breakfast each morning those were the only rolls left. Obviously not a popular item. Suggest they nix those overly seeded rolls for some traditional brötchen. Also no elevator to the ground floor, so had to carry suitcases up/down flight of stairs. Not handicap friendly. Overall rating would be a 3.8. "

"This is thé worst hotel/ apartment I have ever stayed, especially paid so much for each night. The only good thing for this apartment is they have taxis downstairs during the day time, and restaurants and shops very close. But the apartment itself not worthy that amount of money we spent. These are the reasons: - We had 2 people staying there, but only given 1 pair of keys which super inconvenient to us. Especially all the entrances need key to get in: - the check- in is in another location, 12 minutes walking away distance, it’s very much inconvenient especially we have luggages. - no AC, the fan was super loud; - the towers and bedding sheet very old and not clean; - the bathroom shower is very narrow and leaking everywhere; because of the divider was very short so water spraying to the sink part. The bathroom is very small for sure. No shower gel, no shampoo for sure. That price we paid 500 euro per night. Any hotel has shampoo for it; - the bathroom sink itself very easy to be sprayed out when you use it, because of the very very narrow sink itself and very hard control hardware. We will not recommend to anyone else. "
