Stayed here for a night after riding the Bernina Express from Tirano. The room was small and only had one outlet, but we were not planning to spend a lot of time in the room. Otherwise, I loved the look of the room along with the cleanliness and friendliness of the staff. It was a great experience staying in a hotel built over 300 years ago.

The beautiful historic Hotel Stern was phenomenal. The location was great. The staff was top notch and very accommodating. The restaurant was superb. The food was amazing the service was on point. It definitely lived up to its Michelin star. We will definitely return.

Parking is limited. The hotel could benefit from removing all the old carpet and replace with tile. I know the hotel is old, but I wasn’t prepared to walk up steps to get to room (due to luggage). The room was nice as well as the bathroom. It’s located in a quiet area within walking distance to shopping and restaurants.

A lovely hotel in the heart of Chur’s old town. The staff are friendly, and the breakfast was generous and delicious - plenty of options, including meats, cheeses and smoked salmon, with lots of bread choices and local jams. Easy spot to walk around the old town from, which is definitely worth it, and not far from the train station. There was a slightly odd moment where I wanted a coffee and was told I couldn’t sit in the restaurant but to go to the lounge upstairs - this was fine if they needed the table but also there was no one in the lounge so I felt a little forgotten, but eventually a passing staff member took my order by chance. A bit more attention would have been appreciated here, but these things happen. I was upgraded for a small fee by the extremely friendly check in staff, and checked out by a kind woman who took an interest in my travel plans and wanted to chat. It’s an historic hotel, which is beautifully restored - but this does show in the style and fashion of the rooms. Overall, the hotel is very friendly, comfortable and well-located - and the breakfast is great!

Although the hotel is not air-conditioned, there was a fan. Please be aware that the single economy rooms are very basic. The breakfast was quite good and in a very nice room.

Hoping this was a one off!
First time visitor not only to Chur, but Switzerland too. In advising the hotel many weeks in advance that we would be arriving shortly after midnight, we had to wait quite a while for the door to be answered and we felt to be a burden. In the morning, the crew was fantastic both at breakfast and at check-out. We had asked a few different times for a later check-out due to train departure timing and the late arrival. It was emphatically denied each time, which we found later was due to a tour company's early arrival. No air-conditioning on a 80 degree, made for sleeping a little uncomfortable. Hope the neighbors weren't offended by our leaving the window wide open to bring air into our 4th floor very warm room. Truly enjoyed the rest of the old town and those we encountered.

This is a wonderful historic property in the old town part of Chur. The location is convenient to the Banhof for people who are in town for tourism, such as for the Bernina Express. There is an adjacent Reformed Church that adds charm and context to the area. The rooms are quite serviceable to include bed and bath. The view outside my window was the mountains. There is a well rated restaurant onsite. Be sure to resrve early if you wish to partake. The clue is in the front page if their website. There are two buttons, one for dinner and one for rooms and in that order. The staff was professional and quite welcoming. I would say that the place is more adult oriented but that is not to suggest it comes across as not a good place for families or children. There is shopping nearby and a nice Italian restaurant around the corner. Plenty if museums and local history in walking distance. Easy access to the Banhof by cab, bus, or even walking if you are using it as home base. Well recommended.

Fab hotel
Great hotel in a great location, walking distance from train station and also the tourist sights. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. My single room was very cosy and comfortable. I chose to sleep in, so did not have the breakfast.

Charming Swiss Hotel
Reception staff were friendly and professional. Room was small but well laid out and charming. A fan was in the room which was a nice touch as it was quite hot. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast buffet was limited but everything I tried tasted good. Hotel is well located, close to the train station and old town.

Walkable from Chur station. Restaurants are close but several were not open until June and the few that were open needed reservations to dine in. Helpful staff and comfortable room and good breakfast

Charming hotel. All decorated for Christmas. Most attentive staff ever. If you are looking for a personable, warm, friendly stop this is it. Delicious dinner in the restaurant and wonderful breakfast. Wish we could have stayed longer. Great location in beautiful Old Chur.

Cute lobby area, friendly attentive staff. Complied with Covid guidelines. Well located for easy walking. Nice restaurant. Room a little on the small side but well appointed. Next door to a church bell tower, but bells did not ring overnight.

Heatwave a hassle
Just an overnight stay only problem was heat, not expected in Switzerland. A fan was provided and window could be opened. I still could not get comfortable with a doona that would usually be delightful on a cooler day.

Good hotel, great restaurant!
The hotel is really nice, and a short walk from the train station. The restaurant was absolutely phenomenal, they even gave my dessert up in my room as I was tired and wanted dessert in bed. The prices are a bit higher than equivalent hotels in the area, so not the best for value-for-money, but still a great stay!

Atmospheric hotel and location.
One night in Chur before taking the Bernina Express. Hotel is in a perfect location - close to the old town and the train station. Staff were friendly and helpful. The single room was tiny but adequate for one night - I would hvae found it very claustrophobic for any longer; it was also slightly stuffy in warm weather with only a tiny fan. Good breakfast and lovely atmospheric hotel overall.

Decent Hotel, well situated
The hotel is situated in central Berlin with good connections. There is an excellent bus service (109) from TXL airport, which leaves every 10 mins and costs less than €3. It is also 2 stops on the S Bahn to Messe. The hotel itself is fine. On my visit, I was given a room which had a smell of smoke. When I mentioned it the staff changed me to another room immediatey, but I had t pay an extra €20 a night to upgrade to a suite. The breakfast is buffet type and is just OK. The staff are very friendly. I'd recommend you ask for a room on the side street as there is a lot of traffic on the main street in front of the hotel. The beds are nice and big and the rooms are clean with decent bathrooms.

Long established hotel on edge of Old Town
we were in a room in the annexe which is on the top floor of an adjacent building. Room is under the roof which slopes with support beams which are intrusive. Have stayed at this hotel several times in the past but much prefer the main building.

Beautiful hidden gem near Milan’s Cathedral. Easy to walk to the square, galleria, opera house, fort. The rooms were clean, bed’s comfortable.
