Great bed,close to many restaurants,service station,takeaways,bakeries and a friendly little local pub(Baillies). The room was roomy,also had washing / drying facilities in unit. Needs a blind on entrance door as the light coming thru was annoying when trying to sleep.

We called the hotel one day prior to our arrival as we were e scheduled to arrive at the hotel at 1am (creceptuon closes at 9pm). The hotel staff kindly kept our room open with the lights on so that we could access the room. The rooms were very clean, spacious, with a functional kitchenette and full laundry facilities. Beds were very comfortable. Reception staff were very friendly and helpful. Great value for the price and location.

Azena is a very pleasant motel. In good condition, with a large and very comfortable bed. It is close to the Edgeware Shops, which have a great range of useful facilities supplies (restaurants, cafes, a bakery, pharmacy, bottle shop and supermarket). The room is a nice size, and the washing machine and dryer will be really useful for some visitors. There was some confusion around the late check out I had arranged when I checked in, but this was handled with a nice smile. The supply of plates and cups seems to be getting smaller with each of my visits, but is not yet a problem. I keep forgetting the refrigerator is left switched off and you need to notice and power it up. So that meant warm beer the next day!

This motel was close to a party we were attending. The room was a good size bed comfortable. It is starting to look tired. Bathroom tiles need renewing but overall okay for the price.

Deceptive motel very convenient for Christchurch!
Never judge a book by its cover! As we drew up we were a little apprehensive, but we had no reason to be. The staff were very helpful and sorted out a small problem we had of our own making. Although the accommodation appears a little tired, it was very clean and tidy with all essentials provided and more. There was tea, coffee, chocolate, milk, sugar, cookies, washing up liquid, soap, shampoo and so forth, even a sachet of washing powder! All replenished daily. You have your own washing machine and tumble drier. The room was serviced every day, the bins emptied and clean towels, flannels, tea towels, dishcloths etc provided. What more could you ask for. We would certainly use Azena Motel again and are happy to recommend it.

Comfortable and clean
Great motel especially with the after service. Left a shirt behind and was posted to us from the owner. Comfy bed, great sized tv and good pressure in the shower especially after you work out how to turn on the tap :-)

This gem is worth seeking out. Friendly staff and having a washing machine and dryer in the unit was a bonus - they even provide a laundry detergent sachet.

Our unit was clean and fully equipped for our stay. We appreciated having a full size washing machine and dryer as we were at the end of a holiday and had washing to do. The management were polite and helpful and directed us to nearby resturants , gave us maps and gave us any directions we needed.Rate this motel 9/10 Ray

Nice motel handy to city centre
Only a one night stay - arrived in evening and left following morning. Went out to dinner so not a lot of time at hotel. However it felt safe and had good facilities in room. Room and bathroom of good size so was not cramped at all. TV was a large size so viewing was also good.

Good location but staff a big let down
Room very hot - no fan or aircon. Also noisy due to not being double glazed. Raised concerns with female staff member who was rude and unhelpful.

Tired motel
The room size was quite comfortable, however the room and motel is extremely tired and neglected. There's paint peeling from the walls, stains on the doona, carpet in need of a steam clean as it smelt. It seems as if the owners are just interested in having people in the rooms - their sign out the front says they are luxury apartments, but nothing about the room said luxury. The shower was very loud and leaked water around the bathroom. Also not impressed that people can smoke on the balconies - most hotels these days are smoke free premises and our room got full of cigarette smoke as the windows were left open all day when they cleaned it. Value for money was okay, but I think we could do better for $120 a night.

Pleasant One-night stay
Overall it was a pleasant stay. The owner allowed us to check-in by noon after we emailed them so it was great to have the room after a long flight without much sleep onboard. The motel was quiet and within walking distance to the city centre. Checking in and out was easy but you need to be quite independent and not expect too much. The owner was busy when we came so she just left the key on the door. Very trusting. We didn't receive much hospitality but we are okay with it. The milk in the fridge was expired though.

The owners seemed uninterested in the guests and take a while to arrive to reception. The cleaning ladies however were very helpful and friendly.

This motel is in a great place. It is close to a supermarket, fuel station, restaurants, bar and bakery. It is on a main thoroughfare to town so traffic can be quite busy. It is close to town. The room was well equipped with cooking facilities and laundry. There were no extra cutlery or crockery for visitors, while annoying not totally inconvenient. As it was a second story room, there was a lovely balcony with table and chairs to take breakfast in the sun.

Nice & handy to Restaurants, Pub, Takeaways & Supermarket - all within very easy walking distance and the great selection would suit all tastes. Was -2 overnight and room was nice and cosy & quiet.
