"traditional pub with very friendly staff and good quality food. the flat is above the pub but has its own entrance. You can hear people downstairs but this didn't disturb us. We ate both evening we were there and it was excellent and very good value. The flat is in the oldest part of the pub and as such the door frames are low but the ceilings are fine. There was everything we needed and it was nice and clean. Very good value for 2 couples."

You can forgive the Warwick Lodge their tiny, quirky rooms for the friendly, willing staff, convenient bus-stop... and full cooked breakfasts. We left our luggage and came back a week later... to a bigger room!

A beautiful and peaceful spot to stay the night. To sit beside the terrace looking out over the Thames was very special. Room was largeand all we needed for a one night stop while walking the Thames Path. Glad we could also get dinner as not a lot of eating places around the area.

The most affordable time to visit Charlwood is generally during the off-peak seasons, specifically the late autumn and winter months, excluding the festive period around Christmas and New Year. Couples might enjoy walking or cycling along the public footpaths and bridleways that crisscross the countryside around Charlwood. These paths offer scenic views of the Surrey landscape, superb for a leisurely afternoon outing without spending a penny. Look out for the Charlwood and Hookwood Millennium Walks, which are well-signposted routes starting from the village centre.
Families can pack a picnic and head to the local recreation ground, which often has play equipment for younger children. While not a grand park, it provides a simple, free space for kids to burn off some energy. Additionally, many of the local farms occasionally host open days or have farm shops that are interesting to browse, even if you're not planning to buy anything.
