8/10 Good
"First experience of this type of accommodation. Very inexpensive and convenient. Perfect for a cheap stopover. Very compact but has all you need great for the price. Was able to check in on machine which issues the door card. Secure parking. Supermarket and dining including McDonalds close by. Quieter than thought would be. Due a refurbishment as bit tatty but brilliant for the money"

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Celles?
The best area to stay in Celles is within the village centre itself, particularly around the historic heart.

This compact village is located beside the Salagou Lake and is known for its well-preserved traditional stone houses and narrow, winding streets. The main activity revolves around the lake, with opportunities for swimming, paddleboarding, and cycling. The village itself is small, making it very walkable, and its central square often hosts local markets and events during peak season.

Couples looking for a tranquil escape will find the village centre ideal. You'll be within easy reach of lakeside activities during the day and can enjoy quiet evenings at local eateries, many of which offer views of the surrounding natural beauty. The proximity to the lake means a refreshing dip is never far away.

For those travelling with families, staying near the lake's edge, just a short walk from the village centre, offers excellent convenience. Some accommodations in this area might provide direct access to the water or have larger outdoor spaces, which is great for children.
When is the best time to go to Celles?
The best time to visit Celles is during the shoulder seasons of spring (April to June) and autumn (September to October) for pleasant weather and fewer crowds.

During these months, the weather is generally mild and agreeable, great for exploring the natural beauty of the Salagou Lake and the surrounding red-earthed landscapes. You'll find it comfortable for outdoor activities like hiking, cycling, or simply enjoying a leisurely stroll along the lake's edge. The vibrant colours of spring blossoms or autumn foliage add to the scenic appeal.

Families often find these times ideal as the school holidays in July and August can bring more visitors and higher temperatures, making outdoor activities less comfortable for younger children. The slightly cooler temperatures in spring and autumn mean you can enjoy the region's offerings without the intensity of the summer heat.

For couples seeking a tranquil and romantic getaway, the shoulder seasons offer a more serene experience. You'll find it easier to secure reservations at popular local restaurants and enjoy the stunning sunsets over the lake without the bustling crowds associated with peak summer.
