"The room was great. Nice view from the balcony. The only bad thing is staff appeared inexperienced with their technology. Staff was very friendly but the front door was locked to come onto the property and you had to knock on the glass to get their attention so they let you in and it took awhile if they were doing something else"

"From the moment you step foot into this hotel, you feel transported to a different era. The personal experience with the staff was unlike anything I’ve ever encountered and I’ve stayed at quite a few hotels across the U.S. Their attention to detail, to your needs, and even to your individual preferences is unmatched.
Their level of customer service goes above and beyond, and it’s truly a breath of fresh air to see that genuine hospitality still exists. This is the kind of service that should be the standard in U.S.-based hotels, regardless of their size or history."
"My experience was that this stay was horrible. Why? As mentioned in other reviews, the hotel is locked and access is NOT 24/7. My second night I was locked in the hotel without any warning, no way in/out.
My biggest security concerns were twofold… I was locked in the hotel, effectively deprived of my liberty and on that night the fire escape was not evident. Police were called and the hotel was forced to open the doors remotely.
I knew the hotel was having staffing problems when I returned that night about 10 pm roughly, perhaps a bit earlier, so I entered through the bar/restaurant area. I asked if either were open and was told no. As hotels have different policies on Uber eats I inquired and when I was told I could do such an order, I let the staff know I would put one in.
I went to my room and put in my Uber eats order on the belief that the staff was behaving normally. I was told by the female night manager that they would ring my room and hold my order for me to get it in the lobby. Fair enough. I waited. I tracked the order. When order was two minutes away I thought I should probably just go down to meet the driver in the lobby to save everyone the trouble… glad I did!
As the elevator doors opened it was eerily dark. The lobby barely lit by the street, not a soul… the bar was pitch black. The driver knocked on the door, tried to open it. I tried to pull it. No fire escape open. I was locked in by hotel staff, other patrons were not evident, police were called!"
