Our hostess Yolanda was amazing. Her suggestions for lunches , suppers and vineyards were so appreciated . She even made us supper reservations . Breakfasts were delicious.

Home from home.
When you look at the entrance up amongst the trees then you wonder what type of stay this will be. Reason is a "lot" can be done with photos. But not here. Reception friendly and welcoming, pool inviting, trees with birds soothing and relaxing and then you get to your room. It has everything you require. Its clean, everything is working and the complimentary coffee tray fully loaded not just one coffee, 1 milk etc. Break fast tastefully prepared and served with all the fruits and breads you need. Parking ample and right at the reception.

I travel quite a bit and stayed at different lodges and guest houses through the years. I must admit Nuwerus Lodge comes very close to the top of the list. Rooms fantastic, breakfast great, reception and friendliness great, easy and quick to get to N1, shopping facilities close-by, parking spot-on and a place well worth telling others about.

My wife normally books my accomodation (Which is weekly). We look at pricing but also at comfort. I can assure everyone as you turn into the road leading to Nuwerus you can but only think to yourself: What lurks behind these trees? The answer. A Gem. From the reception, to the room, the garden, the little squirells, the size of the room, the attention to detail to the honesty bar and breakfast the next Morning was all "next level". I have already send my mail for next weeks accomodation. I found my "nest" from home.

Fantastic property
Incredible property in a very convenient location. Wish we had more time here. The made to order breakfast was delicious. The staff were friendly and the pool was amazing!

Lovely place - Will return
Friendly, wonderful people. Made a fire in the morning at the boma as it was a chilly day. Great breakfast too. The rooms are beautiful and the set up and area too. My refrigerator was making a noise though that kept me up.

Loved this place! Bedding and bed were very comfortable and suite was tastefully decorated and clean! Grounds were beautiful! Location was perfect as it’s conveniently just off the highway. Service was efficient and friendly. Loved the breakfast that as included!

Thank you for taking the time to review Nuwerus Lodge Mike. We are really sorry that Nuwerus Lodge was not what you expected. My advise to guests is to always consider three factors when booking at a Lodge/guesthouse/hotel: 1. The price should give you a good indication of what you can expect. A R1100 a night will not compare with a hotel that is R3000 per night. 2. Make sure of the location before you book, this will eliminate the disappointment if you think you are walking distance to shoppes and restaurants and the property is actually in the country side or farm. 3. Read the write up on the booking site carefully before booking. Make sure the property offers exactly what you want. We hope you enjoyed the rest of your stay in South Africa.

This guest house is a real gem. It has everything you expect to find in a posh in town starred hotel but much better. It is truly great value for money, secure and well situated. The bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in. Everything worked and even the Wi-Fi was more than adequate. Well done to Yollander and her team.

What makes Nuwerus unique from other guesthouses in the area is that we are just outside the town centre. You get peace and quiet 90% of the time. We do however have some traffic noice during afternoon traffic.

We arrived to be met by Duncan who was very welcoming, explaining the facilities available, quickly showed us to our room. The room was spacious, clean and tidy with kettle, tea, coffee (instant and ground), small fridge with refreshments (nominal charge) and cooled water. The air conditioning soon cooled the room down and the pool, solar heated, was a welcome relief after travelling. In the room was a soft chair as well as a chair with the dresser and one suitable for the raised work area, also outside a settee in the shade as well as table and chairs for communal use. The grounds are pleasant with a lot of trees as well as a grassed area around the swimming pool with communal loungers. An honesty bar is available with very reasonably priced drinks available. A BBQ and utensils are also available in the grounds. The bed proved to be comfortable and allowed a good nights sleep every night for the 13 nights we were there. Breakfast was a mix of self help and cooked to order. Cereal, bread, toasters, cheese, fresh fruit salad, yoghurt and cream and a selection of fruit. Tea, coffee and freshly brewed coffee, de-caff tea was obtained specially for us when we requested it for the next morning. Cooked items, eggs (fried, poached, scrambled, omelette, boiled), bacon, sausage, tomatoes all nicely freshly cooked and brought to your table. Throughout our stay Duncan and then Jolanda, the owner who returned from a holiday, were attentive to our needs ensuring we had everything.

Our experience at Paarl Nuwerus was outstanding. The rooms and bathrooms were modern, spacious and well-equipped. Breakfasts were lavish and freshly cooked to order. The owners are friendly, helpful and full of good suggestions for places to visit and eat.

Paarl wine trip
The owners were very welcoming and kept us in the loop at a few unexpected events. They were prepared in an emergency with multiple individual lights when the power went out. Great breakfast.

Perfect Location for Winelands...
We stayed for 3 very comfortable nights in this spacious suite with lovely swimming pool and gardens. Excellent Breakfast, very helpful and knowledgeable hosts who gave great tips for local vineyards. Great location for wine tasting Paarl, Franschoek etc. We will definitely return... Thank you

Sehr schönes Hotel und super Gastgeber
Es war ein äusserst angenehmer Aufenthalt. Die Besitzer sind sehr freundlich, hilfsbereit und zuvorkommend. Wir haben sogar ein Upgrading erhalten, was wir natürlich dankbar angenommen haben. Wir können dieses Hotel wärmsten weiter empfehlen.

As returning guests we surely recommend this place. So very service minded and nice. It’s clean and comfortable and very kid friendly. The jumper in the back was a great treat for our toddler. Breakfast grate. We enjoyed the braii one night and everything we needed was there for us.

A lovely stay
They go out of their way to make sure you have a comfortable stay. Very kid friendly and the pool has a perfect location in the garden. The rooms are large and the patio connected to it make the evening even better to sit outside while the small ones sleep inside. We will return for sure.

Perfect stay at Nuwerus Lodge
It was a pleasure staying at Nuwerus Lodge and we definitely should have stayed longer. The owner has an eye for details and was there for us at all times when we had questions or requests. We felt warmly welcome and enjoyed the amenities such as locally roasted coffee and the delicious breakfast as well as the self-service bar. Highly recommended!

Perfect 3 night family stay!
Big and confortable family room, cosy swimming pool and made to order hot and cold breakfast. Yolanda was the best host one could hope for. Despite the city being on a power outage due to a fire on the main electricity source, the staff did the best they could to keep us confortable. Her tips and directions were spot on and made our 3 night stay at Nuwerus a memorable one! I would definitely stay @ Nuwerus again. Portuguese: Quarto família super confortavel (2 quartos, 1 banheiro), piscina aconchegante, tupo limpo e agradável. Café da manhã homemade, e ovos quentes, bacon e batata feitos na hora. A proprietaria Yolanda foi muito atenciosa e apesar da cidade estar sem luz e agua durante a nossa estadia, ela fez o que foi possível para que ficassemos confortáveis, e ficamos! As dicas e orientações dela foram preciosas também. Super recomendo Nuwerus lodge em Paarl.
