Very beautiful big room with a fully equiped kitchen in fantastic surroundings. Two small pools, very clean and arty decorated. Great breakfast. Can strongly recommend this place. Very helpful staff. Unfortunatly quite hard beds.
Lovely hotel in a historic building. Great location -- easy walk to coffee, restaurants, etc. Staff were very helpful and the hotel felt safe and secure. I will be happy to return.
Family run boutiques hotel. Really enjoyed getting to know Berte (sorry for misspelling of name). We were also very impressed with his manager. We always prefer to support local businesses and this one we felt was exceptionally well run.
Sehr schönes Haus, altmodisch, im Stil von 1850.
Sehr nettes Personal.

Lovely boutique hotel
Beautiful boutique hotel. It was pretty mush empty when we stayed but the receptionist and manager was lovely and very accommodating. Everything in the mini fridge was past it’s expiry date but apart from that we had a great night’s stay.
What a delightful and charming boutique hotel, everything you would want one to be. A super room, so well equipped and comfortable, lovely sitting areas, and a delicious and plentiful breakfast with so many choices. The absolute stars of the show, however, were the two members of staff who ran the place during our stay. Without them, it still would have been a lovely stay, but definitely not as enjoyable. They were so helpful, went the extra mile in every way, and everything done with a great big smile. And the location couldn't be better - in a quiet one way side street, and a two minute walk to the nicest areas of Stellenbosch, full of busy cafes, restaurants and coffee shops, and all kinds of shopping. A great stay. Couldn't recommend it more highly.
Boutique hotel in centre of Stellenbosch. Antiques in rooms. We had a nice, large room with a modern ensuite and shower. Pleasant, helpful owner and staff. Very good breakfast, cooked to order.
Would certainly recommend it to others.
O Batavia Boutique Hotel em Stellenboch é a melhor localização , Perto de bons restaurantes , museu da Villa , comércio e pode facilitar excursões para as vinícolas!
It was absolutely dreadful. There was a buzzing outside the window all night and I did not sleep a wink. The service was shoddy and the breakfast was terrible. How this is rated five star is beyond me, from the astroturf (fake grass) around the pool ....................................
It's a small hotel with more of a bed and breakfast feel. The room was large and the staff was eager to help with anything we needed. The bed was extremely comfortable and there were plenty of extras throughout our stay like chocolates and port in your room.
It's an easy walk to everything around town and great location (loved the Opie Dorp wine bar on the corner.) Our only complaints are REALLY minor- there was no ironing board in the room (which they probably would have brought one had we asked), but throughout our stay in Africa we learned that rooms only have a hairdryer or ironing board and never both. The other issue was that the first morning we went to breakfast for about 20 minutes around 9am. When we went back to the room, housekeeping had the door open and was starting to clean. This wouldn't have been an issue if we didn't have 30 minutes to get dressed for our wine tour and we weren't expecting house keeping that early so we hadn't put our valuables away in the safe and they were in the open. I asked them to come back later and there was no problem. (Not that we didn't trust them, everyone at this place was very friendly and wonderful), we were just caught off guard and weren't expecting someone to enter the room that early. Also the safe is too small to fit a small laptop.
This hotel was wonderful, safe and so cozy and I highly recommend. Its the perfect location for Stellenbosch.
