"Every room has a great beach view! Our room was very clean, not particularly large but fine for two people. The location of the hotel is central to downtown Cape May, and there is plenty to do within walking distance. There are many great restaurants within a few blocks, and very little need to move your car (and parking is free). The staff is great, unobtrusive but very efficient and friendly. The outdoor bar is hopping in the summer!"

"Very friendly and clean.. the only issue was there was no hair dryer in the room we stayed in.. also since it was off season there was no breakfast and the site said there was.. otherwise it was a great stay."

"very convenient. beach is just across the street. exceptionally clean. mgr. could not have been friendlier. every morning a small breakfast off the lobby: bagels, donuts, cereals, juice, coffee. housekeeping staff was very friendly and helpful. plenty of parking on the property. we highly recommend Avondale. "The hotel was good and relatively clean and comfortable for what we needed. It was also perfectly placed as the boardwalk was right across the street from it. As we went in late April it was still the offseason, so it was not very full or crowded. In the on season the noise and traffic must be absolutely crazy. Due to the location of this hotel, it will be fully booked for the whole season. Two ways to improve this hotel would be the following: There is no coffee table (or any table for that matter) to put things on if you are in the living room. Even if a small table was added, it would be useful. We had to use the bar stools to put things on. Also, in the bedroom there was only one night table. The blinds, while they do twist close, still let a lot of light in, which is fine during the day but not so nice at night when you are trying to sleep. There were also translucent blocks in the bathroom that let in light at night, so that door had to remain closed. Room darkening shades would also be welcomed."
