"It was a simple but adequate and clean little cabin. Even to shared facilities were clean and not at all unpleasant until the shared composting toilet started to emit a very unpleasant smell. That is why I am leaving a one star overall rating. If its too unpleasant to sit outside, it doesnt work. "

Having spent my summers on the Bras d’Or lake as a child I knew what I was getting with regards to lake (it is clear, warmer than the ocean, salt water —perfect to me!), but this was my first stay at Lakeside Luxury. I booked the cottage which was a great option for privacy, the screened porch was perfect for the mornings and evenings to get away from bugs. "We loved the location of this property as it was the center spot of where our family lives. The yard was nice as we brought our pup with us. Based on the listing that the property was on the lake we were looking forward to him being able to swim, yet were told "NO" by the locals as it is a duck itch water spot. The room was spacious and clean (we stayed in the Bachelor unit), however the mattresses could be replaced. I'm not sure why rentals feel that hard beds are the way to go. If we stay...
