"We only stayed one night but we wished we stayed here at least two. It was a whole suite with a kitchenette and a separate bedroom. There is a nice porch with chairs to sit and enjoy the ocean and we loved the walk along the beach at sunset. FYI: It looks like there used to be a restaurant and spa which are not there anymore."

"What an experience. We were greeted warmly at check in. Staff was friendly (make sure to pet Suki .she's cute!). Answered all questions and apologiEs for no dinner/breakfast but provided helpful alternatives (The Lakes was great for family dinner spot, great staff and food). Cabin was cool...beauty fire pit I wish we used, but we were too busy at the Barn for the Celiidh. What an amazing surprise. Fun night of fiddling and square dancing (only Wed/Fri). And the coolest part...Highland Cows! Fr, but kept to themselvesiendly beasts...some escaped and wandered the grounds. Room was clean, staff was amazing and welcoming, got the full "Cape Breton" experience in 1 night...and we all loved it."

"We had an absolutely wonderful 3 night stay at Nanook's Den! A perfect cabin and location for exploring the hiking trails of the Highlands and driving the scenic loop of the Cabot Trail. The house was very comfortable and had all the necessities, and more. We had made dinner reservations for several of our nights then decided to cook at home, to be able to enjoy the peaceful view from the back patio. Each room was tastefully decorated to embrace a touching connection to Alaska and the kitchen was perfectly stocked with everything you could need. It was quite warm while we were there so having air conditioning available was a real plus--as was having a full washer and dryer in the downstairs room (also great for storing bags). We walked to the Quarry from the house and hiked the Acadian and Skyline (especially nice in the late afternoon when it was less crowded) trails, and drove the full loop from Cheticamp around to Baddeck (with a fantastic lunch stop at Morrison's in North Cape) and back home one day. Another good lunch at Dancing Goat Cafe in Margaree Harbor and we picked up breakfast goodies each morning from Aucoin or Last Chance Sandwich Shop. The Highlands are a spectacular slice of heaven and we can't wait to return--and would definitely come back to Nanook's Den! P.S. We played golf at Cabot Cliffs at 4 pm the day before coming to Cheticamp--amazing course, views, and memorable sunset!"

"Michael was very committed to communication - sending us messages before our trip, near arrival, and after departure. He offered support on any questions and even had a backup contact. The clifftop views were amazing - especially the sunset. We also got to see a blue heron hanging around - and were told by neighbors that whales had been around recently. The house had everything we needed, and everything worked as expected. We used the propane grill once and the kitchen several times. The washer and dryer came in handy, as well. The location made for a good home base, close to Cheticamp, and within an hour of Baddeck and Inverness Beach.. We were also able to spend a day driving the Cabot trail from the house. We were very happy with our stay here."
