The best area to stay in Cannizzara is along the Lungomare, the town's seaside promenade.

This area is the heart of Cannizzara, offering direct access to the pebble beaches and stunning views of the Ionian Sea. The Lungomare itself is a long, pedestrian-friendly stretch lined with palm trees, ice cream parlours, and restaurants. It's where you'll find the most activity, especially in the evenings when locals and visitors alike enjoy a passeggiata.

Couples often find this area great for a romantic getaway. The hotels here typically offer balconies with sea views, and you're just steps away from delightful seafront dining experiences. Enjoying an aperitivo while watching the sunset over the water is a highlight.

For families, the Lungomare is also an excellent choice. The proximity to the beaches means easy access for swimming and playing, and the promenade provides a flat, open space for children to move about.

The best time to go to Cannizzara is during the shoulder seasons of May-June and September-October, when the weather is pleasantly warm and the crowds are thinner.

During these months, you'll find the temperatures ideal for exploring the town's historical sites, relaxing on the beaches, and enjoying outdoor dining without the intense heat or large numbers of tourists that peak summer brings. The average daily temperatures range from 20-25°C, superb for leisurely strolls along the Lungomare or visiting the Norman Cathedral.

Couples looking for a romantic escape will appreciate the quieter atmosphere of these periods. You can enjoy candlelit dinners overlooking the Ionian Sea, explore the charming backstreets of the old town, and take day trips to nearby Taormina or Mount Etna without feeling rushed. Many of the boutique hotels offer attractive rates during these times, providing excellent value for a premium experience.

For those who enjoy water activities and a more lively experience, July and August offer the warmest sea temperatures and a bustling atmosphere.
