The staff was the best part of our trip. They were wonderful! It’s a new resort and of course there is a learning curve. The food was great in most of the restaurants, especially Bordeaux and Olio.
The whole facility and of course the ocean is beautiful at this resort. What stood out the most was the kindness and professionalism of their staff. Good job, we had a great stay.
Jesse Alexander
Staff is exceptional. Favorite restaurants, or the Asian and Olio. Alejandro at Olio was exceptional. We ate breakfast there every morning, but want. Ate breakfast at the buffet one time, but the food was lukewarm. The rooms are very clean excellent house cleaning service. Excellent room service for a coffee and pastries and mimosas in the morning.
The only reason I didn’t give five stars is it seems like the preferred area pool area is over sold. The chairs are just right next to each other just lined up. The beach is very small. Just a few cabanas. You literally have to get out there at 7:30 and sit in the chair to save a seat on the beach or at the pool area. Other than that and being very crowded in a small resort, it was a nice stay.
The hotel is way to new and not all amenities are fully active like spa, night club, restaurant, day shows.staff is extremely polite and professional made me and my wife feel like royalty.whish Expedia could’ve advise not too book here due to this matter.
A little misleading- it’s a grand RE-OPENING. It’s a remodel, not a brand new resort, like we thought. Restaurants at this resort were really good, but the Coco Cafe had Walmart-style desserts only. Since the remodel is still going on you would think the price would be less, since you have to hear all the noise and construction. And since there’s no spa yet, the massage was done in one of the regular rooms but we still paid full price for it. Sadly the poolside loungers didn’t have cushions so they are hard to lay on for more than 15 min. Would be great to have that. Oh and drinks are all super watered down and are not top shelf, even if you request it. Only the restaurants had good authentic drinks.
All the staff were incredibly nice, not one bad experience. We had a great time overall.

Disliked: Cleanliness, amenities
First of all my expectation of a brand new resort that just opened would’ve had much nicer amenities, much cleaner property. There was constantly food in the doorways in the staircases. There was one plate of food that stayed there for three days straight in the staircase that we were using. The staff was great. They were nice. But drinks didn’t come fast enough. Things are very slow. The roof service was horrendous food. It was not even gas station level food. They shouldn’t serve that food to anyone. The restaurants were good. The breakfast was good. We had one dinner that we were willing to try And were pleasantly surprised. The biggest problem was some very young maybe teenagers that stayed next to us and for two nights straight we had to complain to the front desk about all the noise up to three 4 AM. It was not a good time at all.

Disliked: Staff & service, amenities
We were recently guests of the hotel for a week and wanted to share our experience. In short I would say skip the hotel and find another one for your money. I go into detail further.
The resort has some positives and a few negatives that we could not ignore. The positives include the rooms. They are clean and have very nice views of the ocean and resort below.
The negatives include -
- the beach. This area is not cleaned daily and has an abundance of seaweed. It makes it so that it is not possible to swim or be on the beach without getting a solid stench and feeling the weed beneath your toes. Just be aware that this is not cleaned.
-the food. The food is not varied and does not have typical staples that you would expect given that you’re in Mexico. There are not very many options and this is something that you will have an issue with if you are staying for a longer period of time. The buffet area is small and lacks many options. The food sucks here.
-the service. The servers routinely take their time to the point that it is very likely that for at least one meal per day you may need to ask for a server to take your order. There is also rudeness from the servers and an inconsistency in terms of how they treat you. For example, one evening I was told that I could not enter a restaurant due to a dress code issue. This was not told to me another evening when I was also not wearing closed toed shoes in another establishment.
Just came back from a 5 night NYE weekend trip to Secrets Mirabel Cancún. The experience was great and the staff is top notch, but this is a new resort with some growing pains. First not all the restaurants were open, during our stay two restaurants were closed. The facility is also not 100% open, there were parts of the resort where construction was still going on and was not open to guests. Also on our third day there’s was some sort of sewage line breakage and we can smell the human waste spillage from floor one and in the elevators (preferred tower, the new building), which was not pleasant. But overall the food was excellent and the service is top notch. My only advice for travelers is whatever you do, DO NOT fall into their world wide membership (it’s essentially time share) presentation trap. They’ll offer you some resort cash and some romantic dinner, it was over 2 hours or our time and the benefits are so hard to claim just not worth it. You’re on vacation, so do not waste your time with their sales pitch, instead enjoy their beautiful pool and embrace the amazing ocean front views.
For an old rehashed resort it is not terrible. Just not something you'd typically expect for a secrets resort. The grounds are kept clean and the property is in very good shape.
Room was pretty nice, with nice looking/quality furniture. We stayed at the club/preferred level ocenfront room. It is worth the extra money for the room, you pretty much get nothing else special for being at the preferred level. The main difference (for us) is access to the a la carte breakfast restautant at Olio. It is the same exact food as the buffet. So nothing special, needs improvement for sure. The location of the restaurant itself is decent considering how the hotel is designed (old outdated design but recently renovated). It is the only place for breakfast looking at the ocean.
The preferred pool area (at the time we were there) was open to all guests which waters down the "specialness" since it is open to everyone. I can see why since the pools are so small and there is certainly not enough room for the regular level guests. It is comical actually. There is more empty space rather than pool/lounger area. Good thing we are not pool people. If you are AVOID this place like the plague. Unless you like tiny pools.
It was nice to have shade at the beach as they have those palapas. The neighboring hotels did not have any umbrellas or palapas at the beach. Big win there.
Overall a pleasant stay, but I would not recommend it better options in cancun
The room is very nice and spacious, had a great ocean view which was unobstructed. We used all the items in the room and they would clean/replenish daily. We had a little leak in the room and they fixed it the same afternoon that we told them about it. The staff were very attentive and super helpful when asking questions. They gave a lot of recommendations on the drinks/food and local activities. The beach was very clean, nice waves but nothing too dangerous. Pools were beautiful, well kept, and a great temperature. Bars and restaurants were great with a variety of options and staff that were knowledgeable on the menu and made the experience special and welcoming. I would 100% recommend this resort to people who want to relax on vacation.
The hotel is perfectly located on the beach but they are still ramping operations. Staff were nice but slow and seemingly unprepared. Will likely not go back anytime soon

Liked: Cleanliness
It was a good atmosphere, people there were great. However, the thing that put this at a 3 is because I’m pretty sure I broke my foot coming out of the bathroom at the preferred club pool. The drop off there is so dangerous. I’m waiting for my x ray results to come back to see if it’s broke or not. It’s so bruised and I’m in a boot now. It really sucks.. :(
