I love an owner-operated property. So much more pride and care goes into it. David’s place is no exception. Good value, clean and well cared for, and a great location. Extra plus: On arrival, we needed some shampoo and conditioner. I mentioned this to Dave, and he rustled up some products free of charge for us. A minus: Wi-fi was effectively non-existent in our room. I wish more hotel operators would realise how important good wi-fi is to those travelling long distances to relatively out-of-the-way places that often also have very poor mobile data reception. We choose our stops based on wi-fi availability (among other things), and when it’s poor, it matters.
