Fantastic location, right by the beach. Sadly disappointing inside. The size of the apartment was superb but it really needs an upgrade. The bathroom in particular smelled of years of urine and drains. It was clean but carpets were old and a little grubby. Curtains were hanging off the rail.

From the outside the building is terribly run down. My husband and I were very concerned about what we would find inside, to our surprise the unit we stayed in was clean and spacious, the beds were comfortable and the location was brilliant. However, in the main bedroom, neither bed side lamp worked, the blind in the second bedroom was broken, one of the screen doors wouldn’t lock and the carpet felt wet and sticky in some spots. Service wise, Stuart the maintenance guy was extremely helpful, without talking to him we wouldn’t have know we needed to go around the corner to Waves to check in, this was not communicated to us prior to our arrival and the printed sign stuck to a pillar with this info was too discreet. The first lady at reception we spoke to was actually unfriendly and rude when we went to ask her about leaving our car in the parking space prior to check in, even though Stuart had indicated there was plenty of room as previous guests had already checked out that morning. To our disappointment after letting her know this she just was still rude and unwelcoming. The second lady we spoke to at 2pm when we came back to collect the keys was very lovely and helpful.

Flexible, large accomodation & great staff
Best front desk staff, flexible. I had a last min panic as I forgot to book two spots (used to solo travel) the team said no problem - park at other tenants spot til they arrive tmrw. I’ll come back here for another stay. In addition to east parking, the property also was upgraded to fit us - no mention of this, just turned up to a bigger place with two rooms. Wonderful place and front desk. Highly recommend.

Very comfortable beachside holiday
Main Beach are 70’s style older apartments that are kept clean, neat and very presentable. All functional items are available with fresh clean linen, towels and kitchenware. Outlook to Byron Main beach outweighs everything and you are literally in the beach. Very comfortable stay.

I am very disappointed with this property for three major reasons. Your website stated there would be wifi and washing machine .. ultimately it’s been extremely inconvenient to me these two things are not available. Also the stairs and stair wells are very dirty .. need scrubbing and cracked snd old .. I would like to request a partial refund of the room cost fir this reason.

Hi Judy, Firstly we are very sorry you did not enjoy your stay with us, and thanks for the opportunity on social media to discuss your issues. We have researched all the facilities listed on Expedia for Main Beach, as we pride ourselves on all descriptions being accurate to avoid disappointment. We do not have Laundry or Wifi listed at all. Of course if you could send me a screen shot I would be very happy to follow up further. Our lovely old building , being only one of 3 buildings only in the prime position in Byron within 50m of the beach will be due for a refurbishment soon, but as bookings here are in huge demand we have to allocate this later in the year.

I liked that it backed straight onto the park where kids could pkay in tge playground and so closr to the beach. I hated the toilet it stunk the whole time of urine, old pipes. I had to cover my nose everytime i went in and avoid vomiting. It was clean but the smell could not go away no matter what you did.

Wonderful central Family apartment
Although this apartment looks old and is a little old I’d stay here again for sure. Position position position and roomy and comfortable the apartment has everything you need and the beds are comfy.

We enjoyed our stay very much. The apartment has the essentials for a comfortable holiday, and is reasonably spacious. It has a great location facing the beach and close to the commercial centre.

Great location, check in was a breeze. Everything was as described. However the beds are far too soft and the sleep wasn’t very comfortable. Place also needs a good clean. There were a lot of cobwebs in places and dust on furniture.

Apartment block is in desperate need of renovation. It’s very old and tired. I didn’t dare take my shoes off because I didn’t feel it was very clean, even showered with flip flops on. Great location though and bed was comfortable

A place with a view.
Other than the location of this apartment, there isn’t much to recommend about it. The apartment needs updating in the bathroom and the main bedroom needs a new bed. The price is definitely not reflective of the quality of this apartment. Other than the location and the view, this is not a value for money property.

Unfortunately, so too will the prices change so for the time being, it is good value for the exceptional location which is in very short supply in Byron. Watch this space for the up-grade.

Great Value
Cheap and cheerful, worth the cost and great location. Just one thing was that the accommodation isn't signed well as to where you have to go and check in down the road, very confusing for people. All in all a great stay though.

Location Good... unit not so good...Won't be back
We had on one of the two top floor units. It is self rated 3 stars, but is not that good. Staff good and helpful. King bed in main, queen size in 2nd smaller street side room. Comfortable with good linen. Kitchen and utensils basic and adequate but oven not cleaned. Lounge low table very shabby. The vacuuming had missed small glass shards in the carpet outside the bathroom and near the kitchen! but my toe found them! Not happy! Only basic cleaning had been done. Lamp bulb not working, basin plug missing, dents and scuff marks on walls. Aircon works fine. Water dripped from the cornices of both end bedrooms during and after a storm wetting the carpet.

Great beach view
The room is very run down and the bedrooms are not air conditioned. There was no laundry or ensuite and considering it's touted as an apartment this was a let down. The facilities are below basic for the price we paid. The position is fabulous. Nice beach views and handy for shopping / restaurants.

This is a perfect location with just a short stroll to cafe's, shopping, pubs & of course the beach! Have stayed here a few times & very happy with the accommodation & price. Despite being an older style building, it's comfortable enough for a short getaway!
