"Lovely huge room, big comfy bed, fridge in room with a complimentry drink, plenty of tea, coffees & a hot chocolate & biscuits. Warm & cosy with 2 easy chairs. Was cleanish but toilet had bad stains in bottom, skirting boards dirty & not hoovered well, carpet very dirty but winter time & everywhere wet & sludgy, room & bathroom really ready for being decorated looked scruffy. The house was stunning & well worth visiting, stunning location. The staff were exceptional, friendly & really professional & the food at dinner was absolutely delicious, fantastic chef in my opinion, breakfast really good too & we got a complimentary packed lunch every day which consisted of Sandwich of choice, crisps, piece of fruit, chocolate bar & water, all in all we found it really good value for money, really enjoyed our break & definitely will go back. 9/10 just few cleaning issues. "Absolute lovely stay, excellent value. Very traditional and welcoming, "Wol" really looked after us, treated us like VIP's with recommendations when we went out and took us through the breakfast menu (which was needed due to the amount of choice and customisations!) Huge portions. House and room had beautiful decor and attention to detail, we stayed in a four poster bed, which was a real treat. Ideal location, away from the busy roads but very close to Scrivner's bookshop (the main point of our stay) and the Old Sun Inn pub. Would come again (when we've learnt how to play chess!) "
