Staff were friendly & helpful, bedlinen & towel were clean & fresh, the shower was very good. The room was spacious & well laid out with plenty of plugs usb sockets for charging phones/watches etc. Carpets & window frames could do with a refresh. Would stay there again. 😎
Easy parking, welcoming and friendly. Comfiest bed I’ve slept in for years, clean and modern shower/toilet; excellent breakfast and dinner, overall good ambience. Would choose to return.
Stayed here for past few years over Christmas as convenient location to relatives. Everything looks a little tired now and in need of a decent deep clean. The corridors in particular did not smell clean. Unfortunately the main problem was no hot water. Tried to report at 10:30pm, stated they closed at 11pm but bar area etc all in darkness and no staff. Tried the 24/7 emergency number - no answer. Reported next day to staff who said they would send someone to room whilst we were out and if not able to sort could change room. Got back late from Christmas Day, having not heard from anyone to find still no hot water. Bar all closed again. When checking out the following day informed staff again who said they knew nothing about it.
This is the "go to" hotel near Preston and I almost regret putting this review on, in case someone reads it. Why? Because rooms are limited and as it is, I have to book several weeks in advance
Nice place to stay. Great service and the food was excellent. Very comfortable and clean room.
Only observation was that the floorboards above room 2 are very creeky and can become quite tiresome if you want uninterrupted sleep.
Extremely friendly and helpful staff.
Really good locally produced food.
Good selection of real ales.
Comfortable beds. Great nights sleep
Nice outside space to relax, chat and have a drink
This is a very comfortable hotel, it was perfect for us as a base. Our room was spotlessly clean and so cosy. We ate in the hotel both nights, once in the bar and the second night in the restaurant. Both times the service was excellent and the food very tasty. One afternoon we sat outside on the terrace and one of the local peacocks came to say hello. The staff were efficient and friendly. I would definitely return to the Bluebird Inn.
We stayed here to attend a wedding at Samlesbury hall and the location was perfect. The room was really comfortable and very clean. Great Hot Chocolate in the room too!
Plenty of parking - my room faced the back of the property and was surprisingly quiet.
Nice bathroom with spacious shower
Biscuits! in the room with tea/coffee/hot chocolate
Booked The Bluebird Inn for a stop off en route further South. What a find. Easy for the M6. Great rooms. Super friendly staff. Great Food. Great Drink. Spotlessly clean. Very quiet. Great value for money. Totally faultless tbh and the black pudding at breakfast is to die for, only complaint was that there was only one piece, although I dare say if I'd asked I would have got another bit.
Well kept, new fresh decor, quiet, great staff, great onsite dining. A few resident peacocks and peahens hang out in the courtyard, so charming! So far of the 5 non-chain stays we’ve had in England this one was our favorite! Would love to come back!
Outstanding - everything was faultless. Friendly and helpful staff, great food (dinner & breakfast), lovely rooms and general decor. Great value. Would highly recommend.
Room was quite small but adequate and very clean. My husband found the bed hard - I didn't. (2 singles) |The worst aspect was the floodlighting in the car park outside the window. Although there were blackout curtains, the light seeped in round the sides as the curtains could not cover the window...it being a dormer style.
As someone who cares about the environment, I could not understand why so many floodlights where necessary nor why they should still be on after 10 a.m.
Of course it's good that rooms are not heated when empty but it would be useful if instructions as to how to work the system were available.
We didn't have breakfast but the evening meal was lovely
Great stay, good food and beer. Only 2 niggles, you can't put the beer or food on your room, and food closes at 8:30pm so be careful not to miss out. You can't get a complete bill on checkout and end up with lot's of seperate receipts. If this was fixed, would be 5 stars for sure.
