When is the best time to go to Ouro Preto?
The best time to visit Ouro Preto is generally during the dry season, from April to September, when the weather is cooler and there's less rain.

During these months, you'll find the weather pleasant for exploring the city's steep, cobbled streets and historic churches. The clear skies make for excellent photography, and you can comfortably walk between the main sights like the Praça Tiradentes and the Igreja Matriz de Nossa Senhora do Pilar. This period is ideal for couples and culture enthusiasts who want to enjoy the city's architecture and museums without the disruption of heavy rainfall.

While the dry season is generally preferred, if you're interested in experiencing local festivities, the Easter Holy Week (Semana Santa) in March or April is a spectacular time to visit. The city comes alive with elaborate processions and decorations, though it will be much busier and accommodation should be booked well in advance.
