"Breakfast was wonderful! Don’t be in a hurry! I was leary when I arrived in the dark…but fell in love with the place in the daylight! It was a great adventure! No glass windows…only screens. The frogs were loud…but slept so good! If you like noise machines, you will love it! The bedroom had a fan if needed. They had beach equipment to borrow if wanted. A wonderful snorkeling spot was next to the National Park…just a few miles from the Dragonfly Ranch. The ocean view was amazing! Barbara (and her staff) was a great hostess! "
"A very homey and hospitable BnB. We had a very comfortable room with a big lanai and an ocean view over the gardens.
The breakfasts were plentiful and delicious. The farm animals, birds and the owners dogs were gentle company.
The property is very private but on the main belt road and convenient to both sides of the island.
Plenty of good local restaurants, shops, markets and historic sites and beaches."
Spacious Kealakekua Bay Home with 4-bedroom bay home: Enjoy Quiet rejuvenation
10/10 Excellent
"The house is very spacious and was perfect for our family of five adults and three children. The kitchen is large and well equipped. Nice bbq on the lanai. The huge upstairs bedroom has a great view of the bay. It's got two trundle beds and two double beds, a couple of chairs and the TV. The other three bedrooms are downstairs. Note: one bathroom is connected to a bedroom and the other bathroom is in the hall downstairs. There is no bathroom upstairs. There is an outside shower, though. There is an A/C unit downstairs and upstairs. There are ceiling fans in every room.Anna, our host, was there to greet us and responded immediately to a couple of minor issues. She was very accommodating to our arrival and departure. The house is an easy walk to Manini beach park. It's a rocky beach, but has decent snorkeling. Other (sandy) beaches are nearby but require a car. Kayak rental is very close and we paddled over to the Captain Cook monument for some very nice snorkeling. This part of the island is a natural setting, prepare for insects and wildlife. The bird songs in the morning and the frog calls (not a croaks) all night were wonderful to us, but if you need absolute quiet you may want to use earplugs. The teeny mosquitoes may find you outside (no problem inside if you keep the door closed) but insect repellent deters them well. Our family loved watching the geckos all around the property. Real Hawaii atmosphere here. No crowds. Mahalo, Anna, for a wonderful stay. We'll return!"
"We had a great stay! We enjoyed the boogie boards and snorkeling gear! The house had everything we needed. Our only issue, was at no fault to the rental, but there was a neighborhood rooster that started crowing between 3 to 4 am and didn’t stop until it got dark. So, there was no sleeping in. "
"Once in a lifetime experience! This was our best stay during our entire Hawaiian vacation! My husband and I enjoyed the king bedroom suite and enormous shower with the most incredible VIEW! Wow! Wow! Plenty of room for our family of five to spread out, with our two boys sharing one bedroom at the other end of the house with their own bathroom and our daughter getting the queen murphy bed all to herself in the living room with her own bathroom as well. We loved the kitty! So friendly and never a bother at all. Host was helpful and brought us flashlights and umbrellas when a storm was brewing. Easy to find and private from other neighbors! Would definitely recommend this location to anyone, especially a family that wants to unwind and retreat! Thank you for making your home available to give us this experience!!!"
"An absolutely beautiful home -- clean and spacious with beautiful views. Very nice hosts with great knowledge of the area and its history. Breakfast was fabulous and plentiful. We would definitely stay again."
Cottage with Amazing View, Minutes to Dolphin Swimming, Very Private, Affordable

"Ocean greeted our eyes every morning. Many comfy spots to lounge when not snorkeling at nearby areas such as Two Step, but a small local grassy park was even closer and a secret gem for snorkeling. Property manager was super quick with concerns about an odor in kitchen and she jumped right on the problem. We'd definitely rebook!"

"Conveniently located, hosts are delightful, fresh fruit and eggs each morning, takes a night or two to get use to coqui frogs singing. Rural feel to location. Close to our favorite snorkeling and breakfast spots."

"Spacious, comfortable and peaceful, a good place to wait out the storms! The Kona low changed all our plans and it would have been a sad experience if we hadn’t had such a lovely place to stay. It’s not new or fancy. It suits the humble rural lifestyle that we enjoy. The owner was very helpful. "
