The Sultan of Brunei's brother, Prince Jefri, once owned the Empire Hotel and Country Club.Unfortunately Prince Jefri misappropriated 15 billion dollars of Government money and so the Sultan confiscated the palace and kicked Prince Jefri out of the country for 10 years and the Palace was turned into a 5* Hotel and Country Club. My husband and I had 4 days at the Hotel but what an experience. Our transfer from the airport went smoothly and the check-in at the desk was warm and inviting. We were...

Staff are wonderful, concierge are obliging and adaptable, especially if your have odd flight times. This hotel makes you feel like you have arrived home with friendly faces, clean facilities, good food and many little extras.

If only you got this kind of treatment everywhere! Free airport transfers, wifi that worked well, buffet breakfast. They even have a free shuttle to take you to sites around town. They sat down with us and suggested some things to do for the day, then picked us up with our bags waiting in the van and dropped us at the airport. Great clean rooms as well with good air con

Friendly and helpful staff. Have stayed twice recently. Definitely my go to accommodation in Brunei. Comfortable room and bed. Well located. Staff allowed us a free late checkout

Great breakfast, helpful super friendly staff, convenient guest car for drop off at tourist spots (fee) and airport transport. Near the river with own jetty and boat tours. (Fee)

The Brunei Hotel is central to the city, river, the water village, shops and other places of interest. Our room overlooked the markets and a tributary of the main river, where water taxis are plentiful and cheap.

Overall is good, short distant walk to shops and restaurants. Renovation is still on going during my stay, after that, hope it should be alright!

Well maintained hotel. The room we stayed was clean and comfortable. They provided free airport transfers which is a big thing for us. Buffet breakfast was good we enjoyed it. The only thing that affected our whole experience was the traffic that day, for a 15 mins travel from airport to hotel took more than an hour to get there because they was a celebration happening. Overall, we highly recommend this hotel

Staff very friendly and helpful. Spacious room. The hot water could have lasted a bit longer in the shower. Inexpensive shuttle service

everything was lovely

🙂

Lovely place. In the middle of nowhere but they will drive you wherever you want to go for free.

Good

The room we had was very spacious, although the fixtures were somewhat outdated. Overall, I think our stay at the Orchid Garden was great. Will definitely come back!

The staff are very hospitable and kind. The place is nice and very comfortable to stay in. It was a nice experience. 😊

It was certainly a good value for money. There's a bus stop (route 55 if I didn't get it wrong) right across the road. It only costs $1 to go to town. The room is in reasonable size, tidy and clean. They even offered a discounted drop-off at the airport for $5 per person. I would definitely recommend this hotel to everyone.
