Just stayed here one night as part of a short visit to the Peak District. The hotel is right in the centre of the beautiful town of Bakewell, so extremely convenient. It’s a beautiful old coaching inn with loads of interesting history. The whole experience was excellent. Lovely room with all the facilities you need and the team in the hotel were fantastic. From the friendly and welcoming check-in experience to the restaurant team, the service was excellent. I would definitely return here and I highly recommend it if you’re visiting the Peak District.

Had one night stay, check-in was fine, had afternoon lunch, best fish goujon sandwich ever, room was comfortable with nice ensuite, breakfast in the restaurant area was excellent with nice surroundings, has a buffet selection for cereals, fruit and yogurts etc, had some toast and ordered eggs benedict which was excellent. Hotel also boasts communal lounge area and coffee shop.

Good location in the heart of Bakewell but rather underwheming for the price. Room was clean and comfortable. The food and service unremarkable. The breakfast needs improvement - meagre portions and poor quality (sausage was dry and overcooked - looked like reheat from previous day.)

Really enjoyed our stay at The Rutland. Really stylish hotel with a great room too. Communal areas are fantastic and the breakfast was delicious.

This is a lovely central hotel to stay. We did go around the roundabout a couple of times before we found the car park. We were lucky enough to get a space. We stayed in a room across the road which was spacious and clean, the breakfast was amazing.

The Rutland arms is a beautiful hotel. Our room was spotless and the bed was super comfortable. Staff were friendly and professional. We ate dinner and it was very good. The dining room is a lovely place and the food delicious. Service was very good too. Breakfast the next morning was delicious but service was a little slow. Maybe they were short staffed. But the food was worth the wait. We would definitely return.

If you have a courtyard room you have to cross a busy road to get to the hotel for your food and facilities. There is noise from large heavy lorries and general traffic passing by.

Beautiful historical buildings with stunning interiors, especially the central hotel and communal areas. I couldn't take my eyes off the picture galleries throughout, particularly a trio of paintings high up on the dining room window wall; whose paintings are they? The only feature I wasn't sure about is the pink neon lighting on when you're having breakfast! One thing that did surprise me is that you have nowhere to stub out and bin your cigarette ends, so there is instead an unpleasant sight in the corners of the courtyard. I didn't see any extinguishing facilities outside the central hotel building either. What looks more unsightly?

We had a brilliant stay at the Rutland. The staff were fantastic. The hotel is amazing. The room was clean and beautifully decorated. The little touches such as the radio playing when you first arrive in your room. Complimentary coffee, biscuits and chocolate adding to the cosy welcoming atmosphere. Bakewell is a brilliant town with with something for everyone from cafes to pubs in the centre and great walks close by. We would definitely go again and stay at the Rutland.

NYE Visit
Visited for NYE. A great stay, hotel was superb, great service, quality surroundings and to top it off, live entertainment on NYE. Room and bed was on the small side but it didn't bother us at all as we were hardly in the room. Furnishings were lovely and modern bathroom, only downside was not much hot water early evening on MYE for showers. Will definitely come again.

I stayed with my friend in room 107 as a treat for our 60th birthday. We started off at Chatsworth House and then came to Bakewell for the night . We had a fabulous stay from the minute we walked through the door. There is a roaring open fire in the entrance area surrounded by beautiful sofas and chairs . The whole place feels like a warm hug it’s styled to make you feel completely at home. It has a cafe style eatery at the front of the hotel and its lighting is so inviting. The welcome at reception was warm and friendly. The room was very nice and warm and had the lamps and radio on upon our arrival. The bathroom and its arrays of products was vey lovely. Its selection of tea pig teas was most welcome and enjoyable. There was water provided and also to bars of chocolate. A decent hair dryer in the room was appreciated. Although the hotel is on a roundabout in the small town it’s extremely quiet. The food we order off the menu in the evening was very good and the service matched this . The breakfast was a fantastic offer and there was everything you would have wanted the full cooked Breakfast was excellent. The whole hotel is beautiful in a very unfussy easy on the eye way. It feels like you’re in somebody’s lovely home. we ended up staying in the hotel once we’ve checked out as there was a lovely offer on the menu for lunch. We sat in front of the fire and then enjoyed the rest of our day before driving home. In addition to the hotel, there is a car park across the road.

A beautiful Hotel, set in the picturesque town of Bakewell. Staff are all very pleasant and helpful, and add to the experience in this lovely place to stay. The restaurant, coffee shop and bar are excellent options to while away some time, or spend your evening. Easy access to stunning views and walks, and many pubs and restaurants close by if you fancied a change.

Third stay here and always enjoyable. Having been to the Chatsworth Christmas markets with family from Nottingham it's a long drive back to my home near Shrewsbury and I enjoy a solo overnight stay. Nice to find an hotel that does single rooms. Dinner and breakfast were good

The hotel is lovely, very quaint, beautiful and perfect location, drawback was staying in a room across the road from main site, lovely rooms but not ideal when bad weather and having to cross the roundabout to get to the main site for dinner, bar and breakfast. Breakfast and dining room was very nice but breakfast arrived cold and if you choose to breakfast at last sitting we found a lot of the continental breakfast items were not replenished. We dined in restaurant and the food was delicious but drinks order never arrived. Rooms are perfect but very warm and a lovely addition was a coffee espresso maker in room as well as tea, coffee and biscuits. Toiletries provided, iron and board, hairdryer and large umbrella for travelling over to main site if weather poor. Car parking available but limited and off the roundabout on opposite side to main hotel. Would definitely stay again but request room on main site. Check in was smooth and Harmony on reception was professional and very helpful a credit to the team, although all staff were lovely, polite & always there to help if necessary. A lovely touch in bar and lounge areas were a few games available. Would have been nice if the newspapers around were current. The toiletries, shampoo, hair conditioner, shower gel in room were of high quality, diffusers were a lovely touch as was a radio & bottled water on arrival. Bakewell is lovely, some great independent shops, nice walks and lots of coffee bars

Beautiful old hotel with so much charm, right in the heart of Bakewell! Parking is right on sight and a permit was included from the front desk when we checked in. This was the cleanest, most updated of all the hotels we stayed in across England on this trip. The breakfast room was gorgeous!
