The remoteness is both a strength and weakness. The location and view is tremendous. But there is nothing nearby, so make sure you bring everything you need to eat and drink (there is a small kitchenette), and next time I would definitely rent a car. We stayed in the "Summer" chalet, which is the smallest (30m2), and must be the oldest? The build quality and layout isn't the best, but you can see the improvements in the newer chalets. So next time I'd pay a little extra to get the 36m2 layout.

Wonderful spot with a great view.
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay of 5 nights. The view from our chalet was fabulous and the seclusion guaranteed a very peaceful and quiet time. Heidi was a friendly, wonderful host. Directions to find the chalet were very good and easy to follow. The automatic and remote controlled gate guaranteed privacy and security. You will need a car if you plan to stay. Nowhere is far to drive to on Waiheke. A great place!

Clean, friendly but uncomfortable
The place was clean and the staff friendly. We had a one bedroom shalet with a lounge that included a sofa bed for the third person. The bedroom was comfortable and had an AC, but the lounge, whose walls and ceiling are made of a plastic material similar to fiber glass sheetswas really really hot. the window facing the ocean had no glass panes so there were a lot of mosquitos at night. Too expensive for what it is & I wouldn't go back again.

Great location, security and view. Everything well organised and in place. We were there for several days so self catered for part of most days and could have done with instructions for induction cooktop and a few more kitchen items eg side plates, bowls with reasonable depth for porridge (!) and large serving plates/salad bowl.

If you are looking for peace and quiet with spectacular ocean views, then this property is for you. Lovely little self contained chalets have everything you need, including a big deck. Also on site is a private cabana open to the ocean views for a private bath for one or two and a proper barrel sauna. It’s a bit out of the way, so you need a car (can rent one at Woodside) but that is why it is so special.

We cannot praise this place more. Superb location, breathtaking view, friendly welcome, well appointed chalet, beautifully clean, totally memorable.

Great secluded chalet. Very clean and tidy. Amazing view. Not overly happy with lack of house keeping, wasn't aware of this prior to booking. 1 set of towels each for 3 days.

Woodside Bay Chalets is an amazing place. From the moment you make your reservation to the moment you leave Waiheke Island, the whole experience is fantastic. The staff are so helpful, the facilities, the views, the peace and quiet are better than expected. Whether you are looking to come there as a couple or rent the whole complex you will not be disappointed. I cannot speak highly enough about Woodside Bay and the surrounding area, and I have been to many places around the world, Woodside Bay Chalets ranks right up there for value views and quality.

Stunning views
Private, comfortable and modern accommodation with amazing views. Close enough to amenities/shops, but out enough to feel secluded. Our stay was peaceful and relaxing.

Perfect seclusion for a romantic stay
What a lovely place, we wanted to stay permanently. Beautiful outlook onto the secluded bay, lovely cute chalet, pretty setting, couldn’t wish for anything more. If you are after privacy, seclusion and romance this is your place. You will need a car because it’s about 10 mins to nearby shops etc.

A truly unique experience. Very private with great views of the sea yet within 15 - 20 minutes driving of the main centers. The chalets (there are only 2 of them) are very new and well designed with all amenities. WiFi and mobile phone coverage are great. The owner was very helpful and friendly. Will certainly go back in the future.,.

What an extraordinary stay at Woodside Bay Chalets. I'm not fond of the word perfect, but it sums up everything about Woodside Bay. The stunning isolated location, meticulously clean accommodation and the outdoor bath is something else. Thank you and I look forward to returning again soon.

From the moment you arrive you can tell something about this place is amazing. From the cute chalet to the scenery. Every is perfect. So tranquil. Alotof thought has been put into every aspect. Will i go back.....definitely. this will probably be mine and my partner local escape from auckland life.
