"Layout and location of the hotel was good but overall I found the property chaotic compared to the Shangri La in Bangkok. Service also pales in comparison to Bangkok property. Had to line up to register then told to come back at 3p(regular check in time). 3p, had to line up again to get keys. Not 5 star worthy IMO. Had better experience in a 4 star hotel. Buffet dinner menu was overpriced(skip it if you want quality) especially since it was supposed to be a “meat lovers” buffet but only ribeye available from a steak perspective. Even then they cut you a very small slice and look at you sideways if you dare come back. Waste of $84 iUSD . Wait staff was also slow in both restaurants I visited.they just walked around and I’m sitting there waiting to be waited on after they sat me. Overall, okay experience it definitely not worth the money or the star rating."

"Wonderful, resort-feels hotel! Since their casino closed down year end 2025, the hotel has become quiet, relaxed and perfect for those who have enough of the glitz of the massive casino-hotels. Largo do Senado and the Ruins of St Paul are a short gentle walk away; there is a bus stop right in front of the hotel which makes it east to cross over to Taipa. The lunch buffet at Mistral is good value for money and the Filipino staff are warm and welcoming, with top notch attention and service. The pool area is very relaxing and one can have a great view of the water and the island across. Highly recommended!"

"The Concierge was exceptional! I wish we had gotten his name. My husband thought he lost his wallet coming through immigration at the cruise port. The concierge called to inquire. Then he called the taxi that we rode in from the port to the hotel. It was found. Then he arranged to store our luggage and secure a limo taxi for the ride to the airport. We gave him a US gold plated coin to show our appreciation. You are lucky to have him."
