The Lyra Grandeur is the brand new 2025 sister ship to the Capella, with a modern Indochine chic and beautifully appointed rooms. We loved the welcoming and helpful attitude of the entire staff. The boat itself has amazing open indoor and outside common spaces that offer endless options for selfies and family photos. Our room was so beautiful and the bed was great for sleeping, featuring fine linens and nicely firm… very quiet too.
What we also loved was the food, very high quality lunch buffet, several course dinner and wonderful departure day breakfast and brunch options. It was important that the boat we chose had Vietnamese and Vietnamese inspired choices for dining. The fish options especially are often difficult to get right. They did so well. The morning pho broth was so delicious along with the Che and coffee.
For activities, we enjoyed the tai chi, cooking class and small boat trip.
Before our trip, the staff was helpful to arrange transport from Hanoi and then to Ninh Binh. The only confusing communication is that a confirmation email comes from the Capella group, but after a return email, they quickly clarified that we were correctly booked on the Lyra Grandeur.
Do not hesitate to book the Lyra Grandeur. We would do it again for sure
