"Great place. Communication is a little tough due to the language barrier. The gentleman they leave in charge overnight doesn’t know how to use the POS system so I was unable to buy a commemorative stamp for my stamp book before my super early check out (early flight). But I can honestly say I was amazed. The place is a Ghibli Studio film brought to life. As serene as you can imagine and the staff was super attentive. Truly a pleasure."

"The staff was very helpful especially for checking on whether places were open and on obtaining a taxi. The rooms lack places to put your clothes and lack suitcases stands so one must plan to use the limited supply of hangars and live out of a suitcase. The showers are handheld so one might instead plan to use the open facilities and hot baths. The food was excellent and help is available everywhere."

"Such a beautiful and peaceful place to stay on the outskirts of Kyoto ... a hidden and perfect respite to escape the busy city action but still close enough to pop in and check out all the amazing places in town. The facilities, the meals, and the service were awesome, and we'd like to especially mention the wonderful manager who always made us feel special, Koichi Koike! "Of the nine different hotels and ryokans we stayed at, this was our favorite place to stay. The location was gorgeous and the staff was the friendliest and most helpful we encountered. This location is up in the mountains so it doesn't have many tourists. We were able to to walk to three different nearby shrines/temples in about 2-3 hours and saw only 4 other people. This was the most relaxing part of our 2 week trip. The dinner and breakfast was exceptional but the staff and location is why we picked this hotel as our favorite place of our trip. I would absolutely stay here again. If you are looking for a place to relax in a mountain setting this is the place to stay!"
