"This is a beautiful Ryokan, and even though the facilities are not brand new they are not lacking. Breakfast was very good and the Onsen were very spacious and felt the most new out of all the area."

"Rooms are a bit dated but super clean and well maintained. Staff was awesome, and the breakfast was one of the best I've had at any hotel in Japan. Location is fairly remote, but extremely peaceful, and there are free shuttle busses into Toyooka. Onsen was pretty good and clean.
If you are looking for a relaxed time away from the typical tourist bustle, I can highly recommend this hotel. Most guests were elderly and extremely friendly, and it was completely silent at night."

"The hotel has been recently rebranded and is undergoing extensive renovations. The bits they've finished, like the rooms and the dining room, are new and shiny. The room itself was comfortable. It's close to the town, which has good izakaya and other options if you're not on a meal plan. There is also a Lawson close-by.
On weekdays especially the hotel is an active construction site inside and out. It probably isn't what the workers want, to have to share a construction site with guests. It...

"Staff unfriendly, No English at all. The center air conditions in my room was no cold air comes out. A small portable air conditioner with very little cold air. The room was very hot . Not even little coffee for me to drink in the morning. I think their cup in the room never been washed, I used their cup to drink water in the morning, I had stomach pain and diarrhea in the noon time. Etc. I would never live there again. "

"The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The hotel and onsen were very nice and the breakfast was delicious. I highly recommend this place for your stay. "
"Wonderful stay! Our friends were late in arriving and they held dinner for them. The dinner and breakfast were amazing. The staff speaks limited English but worked hard to make everything perfect for our stay. I would recommend staying 2 nights to really experience Kinosake Onsen."
"From the moment we arrived at Hotel Tenbouen, we were swept into a world of charm, warmth, and unmatched hospitality. Nestled in a serene setting, the hotel exudes a quiet elegance that immediately made us feel at ease. Every corner seemed thoughtfully designed, and the atmosphere was nothing short of magical.
The staff were beyond accommodating; gracious, attentive, and genuinely kind. Each interaction felt personal and sincere, and their dedication to making our stay memorable was evident in every detail. We’ve traveled extensively throughout Japan last week and we can confidently say this was the most exceptional team we’ve encountered.
The culinary experience was a highlight. Both breakfast and dinner were beautifully curated, with each dish a delightful journey for our tastebuds. The flavors were exquisite, the presentation artful, and the care that went into each meal was palpable. It felt like dining in a dream.
Our private onsen reservation was handled with such precision and care that we truly felt like royalty. The tranquil setting, the seamless coordination, and the attention to detail made it an unforgettable experience.
To all the staff at Hotel Tembouen—thank you. You turned our stay into something truly magical. My wife and I are already looking forward to returning and reliving the enchantment all over again."
