"Rooms are a bit dated but super clean and well maintained. Staff was awesome, and the breakfast was one of the best I've had at any hotel in Japan. Location is fairly remote, but extremely peaceful, and there are free shuttle busses into Toyooka. Onsen was pretty good and clean. If you are looking for a relaxed time away from the typical tourist bustle, I can highly recommend this hotel. Most guests were elderly and extremely friendly, and it was completely silent at night."

"お盆休みに利用させていただきました。部屋にトイレがなく、共同トイレだった点は正直かなり不便に感じました。また、夕食や朝食の時間について、何人ものスタッフの方から個別に確認され、その都度同じことを伝えなければならなかったのも気になりました。特に残念だったのが夕食です。部屋でいただくスタイルでしたが、料理の提供にかなり時間がかかり、食事が終わるまで約2時間かかりました。大人だけならまだしも、子供連れで2時間の夕食はかなりきつかったです。また、料理と料理の間も時間が空き、その間スタッフの方も部屋にいないため、飲み物を追加で頼みたくてもなかなか頼めない状況でした。料理の味以前に、もう少しスムーズに食事ができるようにしていただきたかったです。スタッフの方々は挨拶もしっかりされていて、感じの良い方が多かっただけに、その他の部分が残念に感じました。"

"Loved it here! This traditional ryokan is clean, comfortable, quiet, and the most spacious place I stayed in Japan. Staff were very friendly and helpful, and gave me an overview of everything I needed to know about Kinosaki for a first-time stay. Located right beside the Mandara onsen, it’s a bit of a walk from the train station (but the town is very small, so not an issue). The ryokan several private baths as well, which were lovely. Provides free toiletries for the onsens, and allows free usage of yukatas/baskets/shoes as well. Very cute and traditional, it really is charming. Please note that despite what the booking site here says, the restaurant is closed. They still provide free (large and delicious) breakfast, and there are enough restaurants in-town that this isn’t an issue."

Highly recommend a 2 night stay. Easy train tourney from Osaka."

"A good spot to stay in Kinosaki. The room itself was pretty outdated with an old tv - I really enjoy when hotel TV's have casting capabilities which this one did not. But the service and meals service was excellent, it's a self-serve buffet style dining which is great if you're a slightly fussy eater like myself. A little disappointed that the room view was blocked by netting for maintenance, which Inwas advised prior to arrival but after booking. I think some form of discount would have been nice for the inconvenience considering I had booked a river view room."
