Staff really rude at check in and not friendly at all. The particular member of staff looked like he was having a bad day and he took it out on us. I reminded him that we were guests of his and not wise versa. I am a well travelled individual and have never experienced something like this before. We requested early check in but this option was not available to us even though the hotel has a facillity for early check in for a fee. Check in was at 3pm we didn’t get access to the room until after 4pm. At the least we should have been provided with refreshments whilst we were waiting in the lobby, really disappointing.
On a positive note the rooms were ok, we booked 2 rooms and one looked more recently updated than the other. Cannot fault the location, it is brilliantly positioned and the main landmarks are within walking distance. Slightly noisy outside which didn’t bother us but it might for a family with young children. I am a frequent traveller to Amsterdam but I am not sure whether i would stay at the hotel again. For the price I believe there are plenty of better options in the vicinity.
