Booked as an alternative to our cancelled trip due to COVID to Menorca as a relaxing / sunbathing break. Hotel advertised as having a pool - it doesn't. You can book time at the COMMUNAL pool but you need to book in advance. If you don't have kids with you, you are limited to early morning, we were offered 7am-8am in three days time. I had emailed ahead and checked but many others hadn't. More disappointing was that we weren't offered an alternative, when i later heard other guests being given the option to use the pool at a sister hotel. There were 7 sunloungers overlooking the pools (over a fence), which we thought would be ok as we just wanted to relax, but no way to cool down other than back up to your room for a cold shower. A shower out here would be nice. We paid for a 4 star room but were given 3 star. Its difficult to tell which building is which, and it was only talking to other guests that we realised we hadn't been given the right room (should have noticed earlier as we only had a shower but no bathtub). So we had a 3 star room for 2 of our 5 nights. We were offered a move when we asked, but got no refund for the 2 nights. The advertised fridge in the room is just an old minibar fridge. Very small and just about cools things, but they do not get cold. They dont run shuttles to the airport as advertised. Train then bus 22 to Station Sloterdijk (not Muiderpoortstation), get off at Zaandvart. Location is OK, close to bus stop to get to town. Supermarket 10 mins away.
