Really awesome place. We did the canal view room at it was beautiful! Super spacious. High ceilings. Awesome experience. Only downside was not having a mini fridge in the room.
We had an amazing stay at the Sixteen. The room was lovely, with a lot of character, and was spacious too. The area cannot be more central to see all Amsterdam has to offer! We walked everywhere.
Finally, even though there is no reception at the hotel, the staff was really responsive and helpful.
We couldn’t be happier with our stay and would definitely stay here again! Highly recommend!
Nice clean hotel, key on the phone is brilliant. Bed really comfy had some great sleeps. Great location only a 5 minute walk from the station so easy with a case etc. complimentary toiletries are nice too. Will definitely book here when we come back. Only thing was the stairs were a bit tricky on the way home in the evening haha. It won't let me add a photo?
Great location for walking from Amsterdam Centraal. Room was very small but clean with a great view. Check in was clunky, links kept expiring and only on Dutch. There is a hostel next door, party carried on in the street. For a few days decent spot. Note! It is a three storey walk up in a tight spiral staircase. Not for mobility issues or large suitcases.
Didn’t care for the virtual check in . The room was very clean & super shower room . But felt we were in the dungeon room 5 . Although we had an early start this morning leaving at 6am I’d a terrible sleep due to a noise coming from a metal flue (I think) sounded like chuckles coming rumbling down . This was from 4am .
The hotel is very nice and clean, amazing location also. Only issue I had was that there was Maintainance on site which were using there power tools around 9am in the morning.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
Suggestion. A small light and another seat in the room. Unfortunately we had a false alarm and nobody kept us informed or apologized for it. Also, or TV has never been fixed.
No staff work here at all. Waited at front door for 45 minutes before I was allowed into the building via telecom. Refused key card entry. Their app with keycard only works with their wifi, which you can't connect to from outside.... Treated horribly when attempting to converse with the hotel manager and eventually got moved by Expedia.
Carpets in room and on stairs were dirty and stained. Bathroom smelt like sewage, drains were foul. Shower corners and frames were dirty.
Tv did not work, after maintenance came to fix tv, it was then not in English and there was no batteries in remote.
I don’t think cleaners work on the weekend ?
No fridge. Wobbly bedside table.

Our room did not match the photo. In the photo there are 2 windows. We got a 1 window room that was smaller than what we were led to believe. Upon contacting the hologram in the entranceway, he obliged to show us 2 other options that were on the ground floor and smaller than the room assigned to us. We felt it was deceptive. The hologram told us that it was an old building and that the rooms are different and that we had a front facing canal view. Canal view was not mentioned on the listings. That is completely beside the point that our room was smaller than expected. If the larger 2 window room and the. 1 window room are the same price, they need to show photos of both possibilities. Also, the carpet in the hallway is very dirty and the walls are very scuffed and need to be painted. Would not stay again. Update your room descriptions and photos. Do better.
Overpriced, tiny, budget type room priced too high
First of all, this was not a cheap, budget room. It cost almost $200 per night after fees and taxes. This should mean it was a nice room with amenities. The only good thing about this place was the location, on the canal, but it wasn’t worth anywhere near the price for that one good thing.
The check in was awkward. It was virtual, there was no lobby or desk, just a kiosk in a hall with a remote person. They did not have facilities to leave my luggage, since I was early. They finally agreed to put it in my future room after some discussion.
Second, it was 3 floors up a narrow staircase. The hall was dirty, the wallpaper torn, the stairs stained and it was a very narrow difficult staircase. Anyone staying there should know this.
Third, the room was tiny. In order to open my suitcase, I had to use half of the double bed I didn’t use or I would have tripped over the suitcase on the floor. There were no amenities in the room, no coffeemaker, and when I asked for a kettle was told there were none available. Some rooms had coffee makers, not mine. There were no convenient cafes open early in the morning. I walked about 1/2 mile to the central station for coffee at 630 am.
Fourth, the electricity was off during the night of my first stay and almost the full afternoon and night of the second day. It came back on around 1230 am. And then there was quite a bit of noise as people moved around. They didn’t come to see if I was okay in the dark, or offer flashlights or anything.
First, this was not booked as a 1or 2 star room. it should have been a nice room with amenities. The only good thing about this place was the location, on the canal, but it wasn’t worth anywhere near the value advertised.

Schlüssel unsw. macht man alles selber.
Mijn verblijf was prima.
