Great stay!

Staff was very friendly beginning to end. We got great local recommendations. Room was clean, bed comfortable and loved the dark vibe. In a quieter area but walking distance to everything. Definitely recommend!

This is a very charming and historic building which I happen to love. The modern decor is a wonderful complement to the old features. The staff was great -. Esp Melanie who did dinner reservations for me, booked taxis, and even made a to go breakfast bag for me when I had to leave very early for the airport. I had a room facing the garden and you can hear church bells — it didn’t bother me but some people may not like. Easy walking to most of the major tourist spots. Would definitely recommend.

The Canal House is amazing! Rooms are huge, beautiful decor, and perfect location on a quiet street. I loved the garden and garden house. Lots of communal areas to use. All the staff I’d super friendly and helpful!

It was a quaint European hotel in the heart of town. Convenient for walking and seeing the views. However, the air conditioner did not work efficiently in my room. After i spoke with management, i was given a ton of excuses that were not true. Then i was given a small fan. Management never checked with me again, nor offered any other assistance or help.

Property is in a historic, 17th century building so that gave the hotel extra charm. The place was clean, the room was large, and the location was fabulous. Two gripes: 1) no warm breakfast options (e.g., omelletes), and 2) I booked a room with a canal view but upon arrival, was told that type of room was subject to availability and none was available for me. The room we received was nice with a garden view but a canal view would’ve been better.

We loved our stay at Canal House! We visited Amsterdam during our honeymoon and were greeted by the kindest staff who offered us complimentary welcome drinks and a room upgrade. They gave us a tour of the property and helped us with our luggage. The hotel was beautiful and conveniently located near Jordaan, which offers tons of restaurants and charm. It’s only a 12 minute walk to Dam Square where you can easily take a tram to other neighborhoods. It’s also steps from the Flagship canal cruise, which was perfect for a sunset ride!

A wonderful stay and perfect after 36 hours of travelling from NZ: flying 26.5 but airport waits and some train transfers etc!! Staff were so friendly and helpful. A minuscule comment please can you get the local maps in colour so one can easily distinguish the canals when planning travel. We picked up a free one from a museum which was so much easier. Highly recommend the Canal Museum just along from teh Hotel heading south to the Van Gogh Museum. Enjoy, you won’t regret it

Would have been 5-star but they overbooked and put me in The Toren. Room was great with canal view, but bathroom was not clean, sink was not draining and windows very old that could hear people talking on street loudly late night. Service and staff are very friendly and helpful - free coffee and drinks provided at restaurant, to make up, and also left me personalized note.

The property and room were very pretty, but the air conditioner was not working and it was very hot in the room. Also when I booked this room the cost was $385. for one night and when I checked my credit card they charged me $427.76! What the heck!! For this reason I cannot recommend this place to anyone. BUYER BEWARE!
