“Downtown Vancouver”

Great location. Nice suites, had everything you needed. Staff were helpful, if not always well informed. Handy ATM in the restaurant.

Area recommendations

The Harbour Tower Lookout - great views and a great restaurant up there. Gastown for souvenirs and the great Steam Clock! Stanley Park for pleasant walks.

“Visiting Vancouver? Stay here!”

The reception staff were very welcoming and helpful. The hotel was warm, clean and comfortable. It;s fairly central position was very useful for visiting the many places of interest to be seen. We have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to anyone wishing to visit Vancouver

“Very reliable accomodations”

While the Rosedale on Robson is not the newest hotel in the Expedia inventory, I rely on the facility to provide reliable and consistent product and service. The Rosedale is a must do when attending sporting events in Vancouver due to its proximity to both BC Place and Rogers Centre. This is not the plushest building in Vancouver, but provides in my mind, very good value for 'a place to stay'.

Area recommendations

This hotel is in the Robson/Library area, close to sporting facilities and downtown. There appear to be a wider variety of restaurants available in the area at a lower cost than what one would expect in downtown.

“Concernced”

The room was comfortable and great but the shower didnt work, the tv didnt work, a maid barged into the room hours after us being there and the oven was left on! Once that happened I called the front desk to let them know of all the things that were not working and the possible fire hazard. The man at the front desk seem completely unconcerned just saying in a monotone voice that he was "surprised to hear about this because they had a checklist". To that I said in a sarcastic voice "well nothing burned down and thats all that matters right?" to which he stated "yes, thats correct, good bye". I will not book here again,

The Translink system seems scary, but keep your eye out for signs and its a piece of cake!

“Would definitely stay here again.”

We chose this hotel because we were happy with it and its location 5 years ago. The suite we stayed in was quite spacious.

Area recommendations

Rosedale on Robson is over the road from the Vancouver library and is an easy walk (if you like to walk) to many places of interest such as the Vancouver Information Center, Pacific Center, Stanley Park, Gastown etc.

When to go

We were in Vancouver in May a few years ago and it was just lovely seeing the snow-topped mountains all around. A visit to Grouse Mountain was like a winter wonderland. In September this year it was too early for snow but the weather was fairly mild.

Getting around

If you enjoy walking there are many places of interest close to the hotel, otherwise buses run frequently.

Dining

Would highly recommend eating at The Old Spaghetti Factory in Water Street, Gastown (a couple of blocks down from the steam clock) - the service, food and value for money was exceptional. It would be an idea to book ahead, though as many people had to wait for a table.

The best part is that is in a very good location. the price is quite good. The accommodations are really basic and acceptable. No complains. I would go back mainly to be in the center of the action and in a very nice neighborhood

“Beyond my expectations!”
