“modern hotel”

A nice, clean modern hotel. The bed was very comfortable. Wi-Fi was great. The location was quiet. We had a rental car so the distance from town was not a problem. The only reason I wouldn't stay here was if I didn't have transportation. We had a great experience.

“Great if you have a car or tour bus”

The hotel is very nice. It's neat, clean, and the rooms are large by European standards. It's just very far away from everything. It's a long walk down hill to everything, and a long walk back uphill. That was OK for me, but it might not work for other travelers.

Area recommendations
Try to stay somewhere near the train station or the Loire if you plan to walk a lot. That will put you close to what you want to see in Amboise as well as give you easy train access if you want to take a day trip. I recommend a day trip to Blois where you can see another chateau and /or catch a bus to two more in the area.
When to go
Try to go in April if you can. It's really hot in May, and there are a lot of other tourists.
