After looking through tons of hotels we were a little nervous with all the reviews, I would say dont trust the terrible reviews here our stay was just fine!! The good! Amazing location! We could walk to the bridge and that was a huge positive for us! The room was clean, the shower was hot!, the pool and hot tub were clean and the kids enjoyed it! Some staying at the same time said staff weren't very welcoming/friendly but staff were friendly and helpful to us!! The not so great No microwave in the room, as reviews state no breakfast, there was some mold in the calk in the bathroom but other then that everything was clean!, the pool was also peeling (the painted "liner") and made the kids a little itchy but is wasn't anything a shower didnt fix after swimming. Beds are a little firm for my liking but kids slept great! Over all we would stay here again

Room was nice. Staff was nice, although I was told on the phone ahead of time that the pet fee was $25, it's actually $50. Not a huge big deal (apparently it was changed a year ago), but when I paid it with my debit card, they charged me twice. The second charge eventually was refunded after 3 days, but for a few days my account was down $75 from what I had budgeted (extra $25 for pet fee from what I was told on the phone & $50 erroneous double charge), so if you're on a tight budget, luckily I wasn't, it could really hamper your plans until they refund their mistake.

The Super 8 was a 10 for convenience and location. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was not much but that is a minor issue compared to the value and convenience near the Mackinac Bridge and shore of Lake Huron. There are two Super 8 hotels in Mackinaw and this one is the one nearest the bridge.
