Very nice room and breakfast. Excellent location, close to all and yet quietly off the main roads. Kind of in between a hotel and a bed & breakfast place. Worked out great for us.

Stayed in room 216... Loved the double shower. Hot tub was nice (though I wish we could have the tv face that way). Bummed the fireplace was shielded, but I understand the safety/liability issues. The bed was adequate, but not great. Staff was very helpful. Plenty of bikes to borrow (for free). Breakfast was solid. Location is very close to the beach and walkable to downtown/State St.

“Felt like home”

I used to live just down the street from this hotel. Staying here made me feel like I was home again. If you want to experience Santa Barbara the way a local would, then stay here. You can walk to almost any attraction in the city from here. If it is a busy weekend, just park in the free parking provided by the hotel and take the 50 cent shuttle or walk to downtown. Also, if you happen to take Amtrak, like many people do who travel here, this hotel is about 4 blocks from the station. Other reviewers have commented on the train noise. It is really not loud and you will hardly notice it. There are million dollar mansions in Santa Barbara that are next to the train tracks. The train is an integral part of the City and runs through the middle of town.

“A simple yet romantic and chic getaway in Santa Barbara.”

This is a good place for couples or with little ones. The cottage is walking distance to the wharf and restaurants and shopping place at State Ave. They offer light home prepared breakfast delivered in your room. The bed is comfortable and sheets were luxorious. The place makes me feel I am on vacation. It was worth it. They also have a bicycle to borrow to bike around the beach trail or around the neighborhood. You'll enjoy it! We enjoyed our stay because it's not busy in Santa Barbara around this time and the weather was perfect.
