We booked a double room with a shared bathroom. Staff was there to greet us when we checked in, and were kind and efficient. Room was spacious and had a mini-fridge which was nice. A big overhead fan kept us cool at night, we never got too hot even in the early September heat. The bed was made for us every day, and room was relatively clean, but there was so much dust in the corners that when I accidently dropped a clothing item on the floor against the wall it got so dirty I couldn't wear it anymore. Main issue was the bathroom. 2 bathrooms are shared between several rooms. Showers and toilets are not separated, meaning if two people shower at the same time there is no toilet for the rest of the guests to use. One of the bathrooms doesn't have a lock on the door, just a chain. The first night I showered there, someone partially opened the door because there was no actual lock, which was an icky experience. There was also no hand soap in the bathrooms, just empty bottles. I tried to tell staff this but after we checked in, there was never anyone around. On our last morning, there were LOUD renovations/construction on nearby rooms down the hallway starting just before 8 AM. We were never told this would happen. No breakfast was offered to us. This is not a B&B. I stay in budget accommodations often, but wouldn't recommend this place if you have other options. For 1 night I think it could be okay if you just need a safe place to sleep. The area felt safe and was convenient.

There was no AC in the room, the bathroom was not inside the room, it was a shared bathroom. I could never find somebody to ask a question. It did smell good and the room was clean. There is no room service, so you will find the room just as you left it. The bathroom was clean. It was definitely an experience.

Good place. Good location and friendly staff. I would have liked a little better communication on where to go and how to check in. But. For me the temperature was boiling hot in Rome and this place didn’t have air conditioning. It was unbearable. Even with the window open and ceiling fan on I was only able to sleep a little.

An OK budget option. Staff was friendly but not there too often. The room itself was fine, not spotlessly but livable. Working fridge and TV. Bathroom was OK, not the best pressure in the shower but not too bad. Cleaning wasn't that often and the walls are really thin so if your neighbour decides to shower and move furniture at 1 pm, you hear it clearly. But, location was good with walking distance to a lot of the sights and close to various bus lines. Several shops around and close to restaurants and other places you might need. In all, an OK budget option as long as you don't have noisy neighbours.

The property was absolutely disgusting. I advised I am allergic to dust and still the bedroom and the bathroom were so dusty and dirty. I stayed two nights, and the morning after the first night someone came to the bedroom, they did not clean but threw away some of my toiletries for no reason. Highly not recommended!!!!

Do not stay here. Everything about this place is a red flag. When we arrived we were asked for ID, after showing the receptionist my passport I noticed she had taken a photo and sent it to someone over text. She then insisted we pay an additional €20 to "cover the staff being onsitie". Not once did we see a member of staff nor did they reply to any of our messages. When we were shown to our room there was a single double bed despite my booking clearly saying that the room was to have two single beds. When I raised this issue and showed the receptionist she said it was a "request" and we shouldn't have expected to have two beds. She then called someone I presume is the owner to rant about the fact I was unhappy forgetting the friend I was with could speak fluent Italian and could understand everything she said profanities and all. The room it's self was run down, the lock on the door was flimsy at best, curtains couldn't be fully drawn the toilet didn't flush leading us to use the communal one. The overall feeling was that the room was unsafe leading us to take most of our positions out with us each day. I understand that this is a cheep booking and did not expect anything great. However, everything about this room felt unsafe and I would in no way recommend it to anyone.

Dear Guest,maybe you do not know the rules that we have in italy, but all the guests have to show a passports for their registration...otherwise the bathroom worked very well and the room is safe like the whole structure ... the bed was double because when you book with online agencies we DO NOT have the information directly.We don't use bad words, you like to tell lies...You are the classic keyboard lions, ignorant and unable to relate in person...

There are so many things that were wrong. They charged an additional 25 euro fee for checking in after 9pm, not mentioned in the booking. It was dirty, one bed was a cot, the door to the room didn't lock, door handle was falling off. They stated once we arrived that they don't take credit card for the additional fee, being their credit card machine wasn't working. We had to wait 30 min for someone to show up to open the door, no AC, the bathroom in the hall was dirty, no towels or soap to wash hands and toilet didn't flush. Awful experience all together. Do not book here unless you have absolutely no other option as us.

We had two rooms. The property was clean but the bathroom/shower area in one of the rooms was very small. The hot water went off one day, which was very annoying. The fan provided was not that effective in 40 degree heat and very noisy on the highest setting. Having a fridge was a nice bonus. The property seemed to be further away from major sightseeing areas than appeared on the hotel details, but was relatively handy for Termini station. Check in/out was straightforward and there were some good takeaways nearby, as well as a 24 hour supermarket.

Mold in the shower. The shower itself seems to just be a closet converted into a shower. Incredibly small. You have to get undressed in the shower itself, as there is no room once the door is closed. Air conditioning unit is in the room, but not functioning. A nice ceiling fan helped a bit, though. The apartments don't have numbers on them. We actually ended up INSIDE another apartment during our self-check-in because the information provided was the wrong floor.

Ideal budget stay to visit Rome
It's an average place to stay for a couple of days. It's located in the centre of Rome very close to everything. Literally walking distance from a lot of famous places. It's a good value for money.

Great place for a great price
Friendly staff that gave us a map and pointed out places of interest on the map, which was very helpful for us to get exploring quickly. Room was large, had three single beds and a small fridge. We only needed two beds, so the third held our luggage, which was great to not have it on the floor. Ceiling fan in the room was great for nighttime. Daily housekeeping. Two shared bathrooms were plenty for the five rooms. We never had to wait to use the restrooms, which were kept clean and well supplied. One of the restrooms had a small shower, but the other shower was large. We saw other guests, but never heard them. Staff arranged for driver to pick us up at 4am for a ride to the airport. Driver was ready and waiting when we were ready at 5 minutes to 4am. Wifi was a little spotty as we were in the farthest room from the office and our beds were on the far side of the large room, but it was fine by the room door. Getting up to the B&B took a few minutes. Best to call the phone number to let them know you are there so they can buzz the door open as we pushed the button to ring them and didn't get a response. Once they opened the door, there is a lift to the second floor where staff greeted us, checked us in, and gave us the keys to get into the door at the street, into the B&B, and into the room. Would definately consider staying there again.

The hotel was good, in a relatively quiet residential location, and not too far from main attractions in Rome. The room cannot be locked without a key, so 2 keys should be provided for 2 guests so that independent movement is possible. The smaller bed in our room had too much sag and was uncomfortable. A microwave, at least in the common area, would be nice.

Clean rooms and great WiFi. The car service was waiting outside the luggage carousels with a sign with my name, so pick up was easy. I checked in at 2pm and the front desk was not open, and we stood outside trying to ring the bell not knowing that. Luckily, someone came out the front door so we went upstairs and knocked, and the maid was there and got us checked in. The location was great for us and very safe even at night-we wanted to be in the middle of the Trevi area and the Colosseum because we like to walk and site see.

Though you can have Breakfast for extra 2.50 Euro, there is no breakfast served at the premises, instead you're given a voucher which you take to a local cafe for a basic Italian breakfast. Often there is no staff at the premises and you're left on your own at the apartment and given the keys to the apartment. The Bus is not regular and often we had to walk to go to main Metro stations where we took the Metro to visit the main attractions. The streets are full of cars, as though you're in Central London and only give you pass if there is a zebra crossing, which are many.

Simple clean room
Very convenient location, 15 mins walk from Trevi fountain, pantheon etc.easy access to the metro for longer trips. Free wifi in the hotel. Room was big enough, comfortable and clean but very sparse. Not even a kettle for making your own tea or coffee, though there was a fridge. Shower was very weak and there was no hot water on one day, room wasn't serviced at all over the 4 nights we stayed. Staff were very helpful, though not all spoke English.

Basic b&b in a great location
Easy to access buses and metros. We walked a lot to save money. Trevi fountain and Spanish steps close enough to Walk to. The other attractions you would need to get a bus or train. B&B very basic, comfortable and staff helpful. Would stay there again. Even the external private bathroom was ok. Which I was alittle concerned about before the trip. Didn't have the breakfast so can't comment on that. There are however 2 cafes very close by. We found the one right on the corner a better price. Got totally ripped off by the other one on the first day.

Friendly, central and in a very good area of Rome.
The staff at Gialel were so immediately warm and friendly. Very easy to talk to. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Bathrooms are shared but they are very very clean-to the standard a private bathroom would be. The location is superb-away from the 'dirtier' noisier locations but still very central to access all the usual locations and an easy 10min walk to Termini. There is a very good cafe directly beside the hotel serving fresh pastries, coffee, refreshments at good prices. The area beside a luxurious tree lined street close to 5* hotels really makes you feel like you are in luxury, yet with public transport very close. Staff were very helpful and knowledgeable on where to go and how to get there. I will definitely return to Gialel and be happy to see their friendly smiles!
