“Paradise”
The review is not for the M resort but for Banthai Hotel.
“O.K. Choice”
New hotel. Location distant from beach etc. Hotel staff friendly and helpful. Would recommend to other travelers.
“Comfortable and Great Service”
BBOOK DELUXE NOT SUPERIOR. Booked superior room when we arrived the room was in the old wing which the booking site had not shown any photos off, after explaining to staff we were upgraded to a deluxe room in the new wing. Our Deluxe room was large, had a balcony with a nice day bed and was cleaned daily. The breakfast is delicious, has lots of variety and is changed. Staff are really helpful etc called travel vendor for us when our taxi to a show did not come on time. Location about 10 minute walk to beach on most northern end of patong and a good half hour to banglaar road but a free lift down to Patong is available 5 times a day.
“Some good, some bad”
The website makes it look like you're staying in a four star resort, but if you get the standard room (Superior??) they put you in the old wing which is more like a two star resort. We complained and got moved to the new wing at an additional cost. Pretty frustrating, but the new wing is definitely a 4 star hotel (or higher given the other "4 star" hotels we stayed in on our trip) and was worth it for us. Other positives include the pool (in the new wing), the big buffet breakfasts, and free internet in the lobby (although they allow people to smoke there which is a bit annoying and the mosquitoes can get bad as it's quite open) . On the downside, the location is pretty inconvenient if you want to be near the beach. You need to take a 10 minute (free) shuttle from the hotel to the beach or walk (about 30 minutes). The shuttle had a waiting list when we went and only goes every 30 minutes so you need to plan ahead and let the front desk know. There is no free shuttle on the way back and if you walk get ready for the daunting task of crossing the streets, very scary. The hotel has been rebranded to the M resort and they've managed to change the name in the lobby but not on the outside signage, so most locals still know it as the Green Mountain resort.
“Mixed feelings”
Summary: 1. Nice room and hotel - clean, comfortable, modern 3. Bad service (language problem) 4. Bad location The hotel and room was very clean, comfortable and well-maintained. I give full marks on this. Being a nice hotel in a hot tourist destination, Phuket, the staff had surprisingly big language problem. My wife and I are vegetarians, and ordering food was a nightmare. If you want any deviation from the standard menu items then have fun explaining it. House keeping was the same. I wanted the bathroom mat replaced, tried to explain it for 15 mins on the phone, then gave up. Even the staff at the reception/front desk was not that good with English. My internet was not working for some reason but again, I gave up trying to explain after a few mins. Also, I think some people at the reception were impolite, but on the other hand, most of the other staff was very very polite. As said by many other reviewers, this hotel is a little away from the main road. It is only a short walk to the main road but there aren't many shops/businesses there. There is a Family Mart just down the hill (about 5 mins walk) which is convenient, but you have to walk a good 20 mins to get to restaurants and massage places.
“Would not recommend”
We were not picked up from the airport as previously arranged. For the price of this hotel, I was very disappointed with the level of service and the poor level of the staff's ability to understand very basic english requests. The room was not cleaned very well and there was no hot water to the bathroom's sink and no soap provided for washing hands. Anything we had arranged previously, was not followed through with - arranged for airport transfer at the end of our stay the night before and when it was time to go, the hotel had no knowledge of our arrangement made with staff the previous night, requested a DVD player which was never provided after continual requests. However, the rooftop restaurant is amazing and the level of service from the staff was outstanding.
“PLS DONT GO TO THIS HOTEL”
If somebody wants to ruin their holiday then just go to this hotel. Really this hotel is robbish. Flies inside the room. Only hot water is available in the shower. AC is not working. Im really disappointed to this hotel
“Don't do it!”
Worst hotel I have ever stayed in! Below average in every way lack of service, far from friendly. Had to repeatedly ask for things to be brought up to the room of which we are still waiting for! The bar staff don't even know their own menu. Late for our hotel transfers from the airport then going back had no recollection of our booking. Not enough tables at breakfast (breakfast was also average). Cleaners didn't lock the door behind them after servicing our room luckily nothing was stolen. For the money you can definitely find better. Don't do it!
