“Adorable Boutique Hotel”

Absolutely adorable boutique hotel! Our junior suite was huge! Fabulous location- the Louvre, Ritz, Musee D'Orsay. Staff was efficient and friendly. Wonderful experience. Booked our room based on experiences posted here and now want everyone to know about this gem.

“We will only stay here from now on! It is the best in Paris!”

This was my third time to Paris and it is great finding a small luxury hotel in the heart of Paris, that we would actually want to return to again and again. We had a junior suite and the room was large and beautiful. The staff at the front desk was more than helpful with arranging tours and dinner suggestions. They made dinner reservations for us each night, places we could walk to that were outside and casual, but really good food. The Godiva chocolates each night were perfect. We walked to the big Ritz around the corner for a drink, but we were very glad we stayed here instead for half the price with better, larger rooms! We used the lounge upstairs to hang out while we waited for our plane in the evening, and also got an early check in when we arrived to from a long flight from the US. I cannot say enough good things about this hotel, if you want a chain hotel and a large crowd this is not the place for you. If you want a quiet, elegant spot this is your hotel!

“Disappointed”

I had stayed at the Hotel Vendome in 2006 and it was magnificent. So I booked my 2nd trip to Paris at this hotel and was disappointed with my stay. I booked months in advance AND pre-paid so I could request the specific room decor I was looking for. I had emailed the hotel with the request and upon arrival, find out that it had not been honored. I also requested a smoking room and not until my arrival, was I told that new laws (a few years back) had required them to be a non-smoking hotel. The website DID NOT state this and even gave a choice when booking!! At the cost per night, I did have some expectations that they would honor certain requests, as well as be honest in there description of what they do and don't offer. Other hotels are in this area are the of the same caliber, they cost less, the rooms are still stunning and offer the great location! My next visit I will stay at another location!!

“I would stay here again”

We normally stay in luxury hotels, but the size of the Jr. Suite at the Hotel de Vendome combined with the location and the price was enough reason for us to stay at this location. I was pleased with all aspects of the Hotel with very few exceptions that I consider personal preference. The decor was what was pictured in the online photos. As for the Jr. Suite: the sitting room was large, bed was large & comfy, inclusive of room to walk, we had a large closet with room to change, and 2 separate toilets in addition to the shower room. The Hotel was clean, housekeeping prompt. The noise level at this location was very low, and we were facing one of the major streets. Plus: we could open the windows! The Hotel staff was excellent, and was very helpful. And the location is wonderful. We found the restaurant/bar deserted most of the time and we prefer a lively bar. Room service has a limited menu late at night, and we were a bit disappointed by that. We did not have a car, so cannot speak to parking.

“OOOOPS! I Guess the Great Service went on strike!”

Service was subpar. Desk staff with the exception of 1 young man pretty unhelpful. Room was nice, but cleaned sporadically. Mini bar and restaurant prizes completely out of line. But it was Paris and we had a wonderful vacation.

Area recommendations
We loved spending the day walking around Montmarte. The artists and Dali museum, along with Sacred Heart and the little shops was memorable. We spent a whole day on the Island. The museums, competing Monet exhibits, people, churches, and colorful Latin Quarter, as well as the food made for a very fun and fulfilling day out. We are wanderers. We like to walk and look and explore. Paris is great for this. We even found a great little pizza place on our last night about 4 blocks from the Hotel deVendome. Great atmosphere and the best pizza ever.

“Classic Old World Charm”

It is not easy to find a hotel in Paris that can accommodate a party of three on vacation, but the Junior suite at the Hotel De Vendome proved to be perfect. Located in a tony section of the city, the hotel was extremely convenient to the museums and galleries we had come to see. The suite was lovely, the staff charming and very helpful, and the hotel restaurant served us the most enjoyable meal of our 7 day stay. A flawless visit!

“Magnificent location, superb hotel with great service”

Hotel de Vendome was outstanding in all respects. The service was extremely friendly and helpful; our room was spacious and so french in its decor. The location is perfect. The dining room is chic and homely although very expensive.

“Within Walking Distance of Just About Everything”

Located in the absolute epicenter of Paris' fashion and jewelry district, the hotel is just a block or two off of the Place de La Concorde and the Jardin des Tuileries (both have metro stops on the line that run under the Champs Elysees to Place Charles de Gaulle and the Arc de Triomphe). The Musee de Louvre is within easy walking distance, as are Opera house and the Galeries Lafayette and Printemps department stores. If you have daughters, you will know what and where these two stores are in Paris.... The hotel staff in the lobby were pleasant and helpful, and the staff in the bar and restaurant were exceptional -- great fun to be with after an extraordinary day in Paris. The dinner menu is limited, and the meals are expensive, but it was exquisite food, and worth the price. Same, too, for the continental breakfast served in the same dining room. I would go back for the desserts alone. Rue St. Honore and Rue Castiglione both border the hotel, and both are busy with traffic until late into the night. Parisians like to honk their horns, and you can hear that in your room -- even on the 3rd floor. We wore earplugs to bed on Friday and Saturday night (note that we are from rural Vermont, and definitely NOT used to the noise). There are probably quieter hotels in Paris, but none so conveniently situated, or as beautifully furnished. All things considered, we highly recommend this hotel, and would stay there again. Expensive, but you often get what you pay for.

Area recommendations
We booked a number of Expedia activites, and they were all worth the money we spent on them. The dinner on the Eiffel Tower was exceptional; the guided tours of the Louvre and Chateau Versilles allowed us to skip the (very long) lines to purchase tickets and get in; and the river cruise on the Seine was a highlight of the trip. Be sure and get the Paris Metro Pass, as the metro serves just about the entire city of Paris, and you will ride it frequently. It's super simple to use (the pass and the metro).

“You will want to stay here!”

We had a wonderful stay at the Hotel de Vendome. The room was exactly as advertised. We had a deluxe room so there was a very comfortable king bed with nice large back chairs and a table in the room. The bathroom was comfortable. The handheld shower worked very well. The small lobby way was beautiful. The elevator was small but fit the decor of the hotel. We were especially pleased with the maid service, bell service and concierge service. They were prompt in making reservations for dinner, putting flowers in the room at our request, even getting us train tickets and museum passes. We did not try the restaraunt or the bar, but we used room service several mornings. They had a nice selection of breakfast items and the prices were about the same as any major hotel in the US. We did find a small restaraunt down the street that had great breakfast service. We felt that some regular staff (behind the front desk) could have been a bit more outgoing, but the woman who provided the concierge service behind the front desk was wonderful. And everyone responded immediately to anything we needed. This is a great hotel, at a great location. There aren't too many reasonably priced dinner places in the area, but we found a number of good places within walking distance.
